Not me, it's out of my price range now.
I managed to get to several from the very early 90s before it got huge and the last one about 10 years ago but I'm not sure I'll go again unless I can find a way of working there |

Price increase is definitely steep and will block a lot of regulars from going which is a shame
Still relatively a good value festival in terms of the artists that play and when you look at how expensive some gigs are nowadays. They could definitely charge more if they wanted to be more commercial |

My husband first went in 1977 and it was £5. He went every year after that. In 2013 for the first time he failed to get a ticket and unfortunately that year he died. My daughter thought it a bad omen. The next year the friend he always went with failed to get a ticket and he died unexpectedly too. |

"I will regret this how much are tickets now?
£335 + £5 booking fee"
A coach package for a couple nudges it towards a grand, it's crazy, Glastonbury is special but not that special. Their are European festivals with amazing line ups that would cost less even factoring in flights! |

Speaking as an old person, old people shouldn’t be allowed to go to festivals, they have pushed up the prices and priced younger folks out of the market.
We had our time, you missed out? that’s on you, leave the youngsters be to enjoy their youth at a reasonable price. |

To be honest there are an increasing number of festivals aimed at an older demographic (bearded theory, beautiful days, Shiiine, sign of the times) and plenty targeting a yonder demographic. One of the things that makes Glastonbury special is it appeals to so many demographics and ages and so many different ways to enjoy it.
It's not older people that are driving up festival prices |

"I have only been to Glastonbury once. It cost £21 (1987)
I think my first one was about £45 which was only a few years later! And you could pay on the gate!"
1987. My first one without my parents that year. I bought a ticket at the record shop and hitch hiked from south London.

My husband had kept all his Glastonbury programmes. On the back of the first one was an extract of a poem by Tennyson. I read it at his funeral :
I am going to the Valley of Avalon
Where falls not hail, or rain, or any snow
Nor ever wind blows loudly, but it lies
Deep meadowed, happy, fair with orchard lawns
And bowery hollows crowned by summer sea.

Rihanna and Eminem wouldn’t be too bad as they’ve done a couple of collaborations but Harry Style’s will look pretty confused when I turn up in a Jason mask with a chainsaw hoping to see Eminem. |

"I have only been to Glastonbury once. It cost £21 (1987)"
In 1985 I paid £16
I did go to the last one n worked it.
Got trave, in for free, free food, showers n a private campsite n got paid best part of a £1000, plus got to go through all that abandoned tents once everyone left n got myself some nice stuff.
I been asked to do it again next year so probably will if nothing better comes up. |
