1st record you ever brought?
Jump to: Newest in thread
For you young uns out there.
Once upon a time many many years ago,to listen to music song's the choice was:
Listen to the charts with tape recorder at hand and try to record said song on a thing called a " tape recorder or deck if you will"
This was a tricky practice it involved being lighting fast as not to catch the DJ talking over the intro or the ending.
Or
Pop to your local Woolworths and wait until the song was released and buy it on a 45 single usually around 50p.
Then rush home and play it to death on your high fidelity record player with integrated mono speaker.
If you was really rich you may have free standing wired speaker's in STEREO.
My first ever single purchased was.
Steely span
All around my hat.
On the b side was the far edgier Black Jack Davey.

Hi Fidelity - Kids From Fame
My older sister of 3 years was buying her first record. I had no idea what it was. It still rings around in my head as of now. |

My 1st purchased single was 'Billy, don't be a hero' by Paperlace - it had a very catchy chorus.
The 1st album I ever bought (i must've been about 11) was Kings of the Wild Frontier' by Adam and the Ants |

First single - China in your hand TPau
First vinyl - Nirvana Smells like Teen Spirit and EMF Unbelievable (the b-side with the intro moving from one speaker to the other changed music for me for ever!)
