Ummmmm
Using a currency 4 times more than should be to send money to clients
Luckily got most back
A colleague about 2 years later used 10 times, didn’t get any back and got a formal warning
All other mistakes, have been rectifiable - though one did cause a bit of noise because a team didn’t do what I asked them to do, I didn’t do full check, and we had income that was causing tax issues lol oooopps |

My first job after uni was in a bank where I had very little training and huge responsibilities for very little pay.
Friday night and I was closing the branch alone. Thought I was closing the network connection for the branch, turned out I shut the network down for the whole cluster, including cashpoints, for the whole weekend.
I like to think that prompted them to make their systems more robust. |

I'm not even sure if I've fucked up yet or not. It's a new job and I realised I might not have done something by last night's deadline and don't know yet whether uts an issue or not...
Not had a proper training session yet on a system I've never used. Just rushed bits of information here and there |

That's you finding systems weaknesses.

Suggested during a team meeting we skip the shit and jump right to the part where the boss tells me how crap I’ve done this month lol … I didn’t last long after that but the rest of the team thought it was a fair comment!! |

As a call centre manager many moons ago I took over a call from a very distressed agent virtually in tears. I sat beside her and took the call listening to an incredibly arrogant, rude and obnoxious very posh type, he was extremely rude, wouldn’t listen and ranted on and on. Think Jacob Rees Mogg in a bad mood. And then the line went silent! Hello I asked and turned to the female agent and said this c ()n7 has hung up. He hadn’t lol ?? |

I put some figures in wrong. It was noticed maybe a year or so later. I had to write to the customer to explain why they suddenly owed us an extra £20,000 ish. As far as I know they just paid it, but I felt awful. |

One of my first jobs, I mistakenly deleted a bunch of spreadsheets that our team had been working on all week. I was too ashamed to admit it so tried to cover it up by creating new ones and putting all the figures back but got it wrong. Boss called me in and I feared the worst. He said we can see from the audit trial what you have done... but don't worry, next time just speak up, we have back ups of everything. |

When I was much younger, I was first to arrive at work one day when I was very hungover and having only had about 3 hours sleep. I let myself in and for the life of me couldn't remember the alarm code...only trouble is, it was a building society and sent a silent alarm to the local police station. I was still stood staring blankly at the alarm panel when 3 police cars with their lights flashing came screeching to a halt outside, and they bundled me into one of them to keep me safe while they went to look for the bank robbers inside
I got a very stern telling off when the company got a hefty fine for a false call-out. |

Oh I fuck up all the time at my place….worst one had to be when I woke up late (due to getting pissed the night before) and missed the plane journey out of the country for a deployment.
I had a raging hangover and a very pissed of boss telling me to pay for my own flight out the next day.
Hits you hardest when it affects your money!!! |

I was once accused of incorrectly informing an old boss that completion monies were in (had been notified by the bank they were in, and told him). So he completed on a house purchase.
Only for there to be a right palaver over the completion monies not actually being in our account.
I had notes of who I’d spoken to at the bank, the amount, the time etc.
He didn’t believe me. There was an investigation at the Bank’s end and in the end I’d had enough and quit as there was an atmosphere.
I started another job and my boss tracked me down to tell me that “the Bank has admitted it was an error their end”. I just told him “I already told you that - shame you didn’t believe me” and left it there. The Bank had managed to track down the recording of the phone call.
So even though I hadn’t made the mistake, I was treated as though I had.

I once had to pay $100 to get the bridge back I was that late , that was after paying check in , security and immigration. It’s possible to arrive 5mins before take off in sine countries, if you carry cash, they will definitely wait for you |
