And why? What memories does it bring back …. For me originally Nightmare on Elm Street in the cinema with a real live girl - clamped my hand between her thighs as ‘ it helped reassure her’ ffs - i feel so used!!

My is also nightmare on elm Street.

I remember as a kid having to go to bed afterwards. And shitting it.

Nightmare on Elm Street is a classic! Now you watch it back you realise it’s as much a comedy as a horror but at the time as a teenager it was proper scary!

Scream is another in a similar vein (same Director of course!) very much a comedy horror, and I have similar memories to you OP, had to “reassure” a date that all would be ok …
