"Antidisestablishmentarianism..
( to keep the state church..)
What other uncommon words can you give us .
( The winner gets to be prime minister..
p.s. there are no winners) "
Always wondered what antidisestablishmentarianism meant! I mean I could have looked it up all these years, but somehow always found something better to do! I don’t get the fact that it has anti AND dis in it…surely they cancel each other out, so why have either? Why not just say establishmentarianism? |

"Sonder - when in a quiet moment when in a crowd you have the realisation everyone around you are also living complex lives - relationships, problems, feelings & thoughts"
I love that. Committed to memory! |

Logically and gramatically, you are entirely right! But the word 'disestablishmentarian' existed and the word 'establishmentarian' didn't. English back-formations are rarer than words formed via prefixes, so the longer word won. |

"In all seriousness - sonder. An absolutely brilliant word. "
“The profound feeling of realizing that everyone, including strangers passing in the street, has a life as complex as one's own, which they are constantly living despite one's personal lack of awareness of it.“ |

Oh my…to get the answer AND be told that I am entirely right, logically and grammatically, is a full mind and body sensation…thank you!! |

First there was the establishment.
Then there was a movement against the establishment. Their work was labelled disestablishmentarianism.
Finally, there was a movement against the movement that was against the establishment. Antidisestablishmentarianism.
Keep up!

"My favourite words are not English.
Mogollón
Fussballweltmeisterschaftpokal
Are just two
German words are always great! What does that mean: Football-world-master...?
I love zusammenbruch!"
It means the "football world cup"
It's true that I woke Mr KC up during our honeymoon, to tell him that I'd remembered that word. He was very pleased |

I'm sure he was delighted! It's what honeymoons are for!
Only the Germans would need 'meisterschaftpokal' to mean cup! |

I’m trying, but I’m also sensing that you are making that up!! Surely that third movement was just the first movement trying to bring back the status quo…?! So what’s the point, is my point |

Delighted to be of assistance!
In my deluxe special offer package, as well as grammatical validation, I also throw in a free 'Your hair/skin looks amazing today' (delete according to anxiety), as well as opening jars and Prosecco. |

Non sequitur. A jump in logic that doesn't follow from what was said.
Journalists don't want you to know about non sequiturs because their thoughts are mostly composed of non sequiturs.
Sometimes it means they haven't formalized their thought because it is difficult to both understand and articulate but more often it means somebody is not too bright. You can use socratic reasoning to figure out which is which, because the person who has a real idea will be able to answer or "backfill" the missing part - but the other type won't acknowledge or understand why you're asking the questions.
