If your passport has expired, which option are you supposed to go for?

Renew .

Never heard “ replace “ sounds appropriate for damaged or stolan or lost .

I don’t see any difference between stolan or lost

Don’t know why that make such big fuzz about that .

Stolan is lost isn’t it ?

Renew but be aware that as it's expired you will probably be required to go to an interview and also send photos signed by someone confirming your identity.

Stòlén would usually come with a crime number and an experience of a crime taken place.

Lost means I can't be 100% certain where it is or it's been burnt in a house fire for example.

With stólen, they can keep an eye out for it if it's used for fraud later on.

"If your passport has expired, which option are you supposed to go for?"

I renewed my expired passport recently. Previous one expired in October 2020 and there didn't seem much point renewing it at the time.

The process is really quick if you do it on line. Just a couple of weeks at the moment.

Not necessarily, im sure it depends on when it expired. I renewed mine recently which expired and it was all online, no interview and issued in just over 2 weeks

Remember to staple your old one to your new one if you have valid 6 or 12 month Visas still, people always forget this and visa on arrival can be very expensive or you can even be refused onto the plane without a visa.

Renew. Get a countersignature on your photo if you think you can’t be easily recognised from your old passport. Interviews are for over-16s getting their first ever passport.

I used one of the photo-me booths. They are uploaded too and have the reference printed on them.

How about if it has expired but you have also lost it. Is it still a renew then because I dont have the old one to send back? (Just jumping on)

Bloody hell, that’s complicated it

I don’t know, the GOV website was easy to use though.
