No it's pointless and just a modern day money maker. You both already made “until death do you part” vows. Nothing has changed, saying it again doesn’t make it more or less valid. |

I'd feel just an excuse for a party really? Which is fine if you want to do that  (fund the bar tab)
Other than that it's just a bit daft, no?... All yep, we know you may have attended/paid for presents once. But we'd really love more  |

The way I see it, the two of you both know how much you love each other, the ‘renewing the vows’ thing to me serves just 2 purposes really .. it kind of (virtue?) signals to external third parties (friends/family etc) how much you love each other (but if you two know that already then what does it matter what other people think?), and acts as a huge money making enterprise for people who exploit these types of thing….
But as others have said, it’s your money and your choice.

Sometimes when I hear the word "renewing our vows" I immediately think "something has happened in the past" (based on my own experience from my first marriage) and I know that's not always the case, especially after 25 years you probably want to freshen it up.
I don't think I would when I get to that stage, I'd rather just have a lovely party with out doing the whole service thing, being able to look around the room and see what we have created over those 25 years, I don't need to reaffirm my relationship. |
