If you enjoy war movies this is a brilliant watch. I'd say the best movie I've seen this year.

Anyone else watched it yet and what did you think? I can't remember the last time a movie made me cry so much.

Is that a remake of the 30s movie?

I've never read the book but I was thinking I might buy it.

The movie has just been released on Netflix. It's honestly fantastic. But incredibly difficult to watch.

I might give the original a go sometime soon when I have recovered from this movie. And there was another one too in the 70s or 80s I think. So good they made it three times. But I didn't know the others weren't in German.

I think The Waltons was a TV show? Sounds very familiar but I don't think I've watched it. I'd say my dad did though and that's why I recognise it!

Different to the old film versions. Can't say I read the book. It's ok but like most modern war films you lose whose under the helmet.

I just saw it. Personally, I think it was an awful movie with amazing cinematography. There wasn’t much of a plot, i wasn’t familiar with the characters, the whole thing felt like more of a vibe than a story.

The scene with that dying French soldier and the remorseful and frightened German was very powerful though, but again, I can’t really see much of a story to this movie

It was a story about the futility of war,I think there might be a story there somewhere

Haven't watched the movie but read the book many years ago. If it's half as engaging it's a good watch
