Good one OP !

Been to the horses a few times, prefer jumps to the flat. Only bet when I'm there but mostly lose.

abruzzo Italy (and UK)

I’ve been to both, but not for years, they are quite good fun but I don’t really have any interest in betting on them unless it’s in a matched betting way to squeeze a few quid from the bookies.

Also been to athletics meetings, it's incredible to see how fast they are in person.

No but I've always fancied going to a dog race track and might pop it on me bucket list.

west midlands

Used to go and watch the dog races but haven't been in years, think the most I ever won was a tenner once.

I only ever have a flutter on the grand national but I have backed the winner for 4 years running now.

I like virtual car racing .

As real is extremelly pollutive.

And would cost a fortune as well .

is nice . Now every one can race . Not just the children of very rich people .

I don’t like animals being used for races , circus , zoos , fights , etc .

Eat them is bad enough . With respect to animals .

Oxford

I only went greyhound racing ones: the atmosphere was brilliant, the food was disgusting, and I won £200.

I was once invited to the Royal Enclosure at Ascot, where the food was better but I was too confused by everything and never got a bet on at all.

And that's it: my whole experience.

The old Derby Gaol in Vernon Gate was a greyhound track from 1933 - 1987. A few of us used to go occasionally on Friday nights :-

It's now been developed into flats

Loved dog racing, my uncle raced a few good runners so spent a lot of time at tracks with him, happy days

I don't know as I don't look at the odds I just go for the names I like much to the disappointment of my husband although he wasn't that disappointed when he shared my winnings.

The nearest I've gotten was going to Ascot on a race day by train. We were off to a relative's anniversary party. The racegoers were, in the main, d*unken buffoons. I would hate to spend any more time in their company

Used to go to Windsor Races after work on a Monday night in the Summer a few years ago, that was always fun.

Went a few times to the dogs at Reading before they closed and demolished the stadium there, always came home a few pounds up.

Provided you gamble sensibly and within your means it can be an enjoyable evening, but as with all gambling, when the fun stops stop!
