No plans on the weekend

I don't know why post-covid I just haven't been able to make that many weekend plans.

I don't know if it's because I'm getting older and my friends are settling down and getting married. But then I see everyone else still living their best lives out every Friday and Saturday nights on social media (yes yes I know, it's a curse...). I don't get how people are able to maintain all these incredible social lives and dozens of close friendships so easily??

Everyone seems so busy lately and I feel like so inferior for being home on a Friday night... Is everyone just out doing stuff without me?

No it’s not just you. I have a very hard time socialising after Covid times but always been a shy person anyway. I rather enjoy my favourite things to do than conforming to what society and social media thinks I should be doing on a weekend.

In a nutshell, do what makes you happy OP x

Surely you've realised by now that people are only posting edited highlights on social media?

It's not usually/always reflective of reality

North West

I'm out out! At the cinema now, having enjoyed a meal for one and floated the afternoon away in a spa pool. One of my rare days off

Sm is the trailer you’re not seeing the whole movie

As for “getting older” you’re a baby compared to me! The friends you were going out with may be getting married etc (not unusual around your age) but you’ll probably find

A - they won’t be off the social scene for long. Usually just while they’re saving for/planning wedding

B - there will be others your age who still wanna go out, chat to your wider circle see what folk are up to, maybe go to fab socials if any near you?

C - in a few years when the divorces start happening they’ll wanna head to the clubs again!

I thought the tight referred to something else!

Meet new people, go on a fab date or sit in and enjoy some chill time. It's very "peoply" out there.

You could also tell yourself that that slice of cake you're watching someone else eat while you're on a diet is full of sugar and terrible for you, and the only reason it looks so good is because you're not allowed any.

That doesn't make you suddenly stop wanting the cake.

You have the rest of your life in front of you. This is just a stage thing it will pass. There’s plenty of people out there for you. You just need to find them. Some of your friends won’t be getting married so there’s always that also if you want to get married I’m game but I have a poor track record…

There's a Fab Group Social tonight, they are often on Friday. Another London one on November 18th.

I don’t have a decent Friday or Saturday for years . Long years .

Yes I gone out with my ex but she burns , ruins everything with drama . Every time

And since I’m single . I never gone out , well I gone out couple of times

But I mean a decent one that I actually had fun

And no . I’m not gonna spend £50 to £100 on local night getting pissed at round the corner .

I do wish I would meet someone I would get on well n go out for a bit .

Is not just you sweetheart .

Is messed up .

Can’t even go out on your own cause is everything so so expensive and fu k all to do
