"More likely property developers looking to rent them out, and prevent first time buyers getting on the property ladder."
We're not first time buyers but we have a really essential reason for needing a 3 bed bungalow and we're really putting ourselves out there financially to afford it at all. But everyone so far has gone to cash buyers, viewings for the next day cancelled almost as soon as they're made, etc. |

Have you made friends with the local estate agents?
It’s annoying to be in your position & I really wish you the best of luck

Yes, we've been working the agents. One issue is time to view. Lots of agents don't offer viewings later than 4 or 4.30 weekdays and we've had some say no to Saturday!! In education, we can't just leave early or take time off without it being pre planned (unless an emergency). |

Lol I wouldn’t want to live in the NW no offence. "
Nah Manchester is great. But now all the Londoners live there it’s just as expensive and actually in my opinion not as great or well connected |

Definitely not well connected enough. We need to stay close to decent public transport for Mr KC but many bungalows seem to have been built on estates that are miles away from public transport. It's frustrating.
I can't use most trains (non-mainline stations not accessible) but I still need to be within sensible distance of the main roads too.
Oh, and we have a child in school. Etc. |

Why aren’t the government funding the transport connections?
Can’t there be a similar thing to TFL up north? |

We have Transport for Greater Manchester but it doesn't seem to do much. All the transport is privately run by various different companies, not TfGM. Deregulation didn't happen in London but it did here. |

Would a ground floor flat work? As long as you didn't have a Swinger upstairs of course. Noisy shaggers. |

We're keeping an open mind on flats too yes. Not a lot of 3 bed ones and in the city centre, they're pretty much exclusively being advertised for investors only for BtL. No owner occupiers to purchase |
