Would you say the black lives matter group is racist? (only Black Lives Matter?)

To me, we should be focusing on the human race, not just one race it sounds better and to be honest,

it is better.

I sit back and wait for the backlash and abuse. The popcorn is ready.

I'll try and treat this as a genuine question instead of jumping on you like some may do. We can't focus on the human race until all races are equally perceived. As that's not happening, we can't focus on how the human race can progress. It's like running before you can walk.

"Would you say the black lives matter group is racist? (only Black Lives Matter?)"

But they don't say *only* Black Lives Matter. And they never have.

So the people who STILL use that as an objection presumably have another agenda.

Yet, what you're said can be flipped on its head. If you truly believe that ALL lives matter, then you surely believe that Black Lives Matter. So, why don't you say it?

No lives matter! I'm from Hackney, which I a very multi cultural and ethnicity diverse Borough. At the height of the BLM hype I came across an elderly Caribbean gent slumped on the floor with his back against a tree. It was one of those stupidly hot days in 2020 and he was wearing a three piece suit. This was on Stamford hill in full view of people going about their business. I stopped to ask if he was OK. It was obvious he had been drinking. He said he was feeling dizzy and sat down to rest but found he couldn't get up. He'd been there a while. I helped to get him up off the ground. Got him some water and walked him home. Another time last September I was comming home from work at 4AM. There was a heap in the road. As I got closer I saw it was a person. An older Rastafarian gent had taken a tumble off the curb and was in a dazed state. He had a huge gash on his head and blood everywhere. Several cars drove passed him but only I stopped. I walked with his arms across my shoulders back to his house. Tried to get him to go to A&E. He said he would in the morning.

Everyday there are people that we pass that need help but get ignored. Yet those nice Victorian town houses of Hackney still have their Black Lives Matter banners in the windows.

It's not about wearing a badge, displaying a poster or taking the knee. If you care about "lives" then go and donate blood.

Black Lives Matter in my book. Also fully aware why it needs to be brought to attention. Same as Me Too movement, sooner or later someone will try to skewer the underlying message.

To be honest if you’re using Kanye West as a good example then your argument isn’t that solid.

That's the whole point!!! If this statement was true, then a person would not be able to unjustly take the life of a black person and get away with it... as if black lives don't matter.

All people are equal, yet the BBC still pay male presenters more money than female ones so there's a campaign for equal pay for females.

All soldiers in the UK Army are seen as equal yet, Gurkhas serving in the British Army have only just been awarded the same pension rights as the British soldiers that they served along side.

If every life truly matters OP, how are we as humans allowed to decide when an animal dies? I'm guessing you must be a vegan.

The organisation and the movement are two completely separate entities….

I think you will find not a lot of black people think much of the organisation and the fact that the people at the top have basically lined their own pockets doesn’t help with the cause…

The right wing like to use the organisation to bash the cause!!

The cause is way way bigger than the organisation… I don’t see why see many white peoples see black people being treated better is a net minus for them!!!!

I watched a documentary the other night about the black lives matter organisation, they supposedly raised over 90 million dollars. The people in charge bought mansions for themselves costing millions of dollars. They also spoke to the people the Floyd lived with and they hadn't received any money to pay for back rent or to take his car from the property he lived at. His family never even came to pick up his stuff from the place and his roommates never even met any of his siblings, but they were out in force on TV and meeting even the president. The neighbourhood where he was killed has become a place where killings has gone up 58% and they have a shrine where he died. As for Floyd, when he was arrested he had enough drugs in his system because as the police knocked on the window of the car he necked them to stop them finding them. Forensic scientists said he would have died anyway, also police cams showed that the police officer did not have his knee on his neck all the time and he was complaining about not being able to breathe well before he was put on the ground. Floyd was in and out of jail, once for being part of a house invasion where a mother was pistol whipped in front of her young son.

I'm sorry, I'm not a racist in any way, but using a person like that to start a movement such as black lives matter was a fucking joke.

Black Lives Matter organisations existed across the world prior to George Floyd’s murder though? And the movement existed way before him.

Sure you weren't watching a documentary about the Tory party?

I hate entertaining anything to do with race but unfortunately racism existed 1000 years ago and it will exist in another 1000 years. You will never ever tackle racism. It's equivalent to asking a dickhead not to be a dickhead!! Yep pissing in the wind!! Anyone that still supports the BLM organisation needs to give their head a wobble. How about watching the trial? You can see all the police cam footage, the witnesses who were actually there and forensic experts who actually examined George Floyd, and you can see the jury finding the policeman guilty of murder, instead of watching a documentary from a woman who has her own agenda.

It isn't about the man as his own unique individual self, it's about a man (could be any man) of colour being treated as he was.

George Floyd himself should not be a martyr, but neither should he have been brutally treat by police as he did, it just so happened to him. And that is what it comes down to, not the person but the general attitude towards people of colour by parts of the population especially (some) police who do often need to use force in situations, but often use it when it is not necessary too. That same force may very well have been used on an innocent black man due to some attitudes. Maybe due to his priors they used additional excessive force, but it is pretty safe to say that same force and treatment would not have been used on a white criminal with the same priors.

In this case it should not matter who was involved in how the campaign started, but that it did, that's the important take from it.

The worldwide campaign is focused on the police, do you believe what happened was acceptable? Do you believe the police conduct was okay?

And how can you claim All Lives Matter when you are dismissing the life of a mam based on his past

His past had no impact on the police actions.

Why does it worry you?

Problem for you is that as much as media can spin a lot of things…. Video doesn’t lie!!! "

"Watch The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the rise of BLM. It's a documentary by a black woman called Candace Owens. You can find it on Netflix.

Candace always had her own agenda with BLM like I said, the organisation and the movement are two separate entities…..

Candice was trying to say the cops didn’t kill George floyd! That’s one hell of a Jedi mind trick telling us not to believe the 9 minutes and 29 seconds of video we all saw!

Why not watch the documentary and see the police cam footage and forensic analysis. It even shows the toxicology report showing how much drugs were inside him before the police touched him.

Does the toxicology report justify the level of force and brutality the police used?

Like I say, should a man that was part of a house invasion that saw a young child watch their mother being pistol whipped in front of them justify the start of a worldwide campaign?"

Smells like you’re justifying murder. And a murder that was a direct result of racism as well.

There's some very direct questions that yiu are ignoring...

Are yiu saying the police were innocent?

No, not at all, but to start a worldwide campaign over the death of an habitual criminal that saw rioting, looting and mass destruction of property is something that does worry me."

A) racism, specifically in this case anti blackness, is globally far more destructive than anything you’ve mentioned.

B) George Floyd didn’t start the Black Lives Matter movement. Suggesting it believing he did is revisionist. It’s just untrue.

C) you’ve been saying a lot of mad stuff in this thread and I don’t know what the worst is

You are right…. Floyd wasn’t Rosa parks and chauvin wasn’t the perfect policeman you are painting him to be either.. chauvin had numerous complaints about his behaviour as well…

So your point being what?

We saw all of the interactions between floyd and chauvin….. that why we know he was on the neck for 9 minutes 29…

We saw the interaction from his bodycam, from other police bodycam and camera footage from the other side of the street so we saw what happened behind the police car….

But we should not trust our lying eyes… right?

If you really want to dig the holes.. I am prepared to hand you a whole lot of dumb… and I ain’t even started!!!

So what you are saying is that the knee on the neck, whilst people were screaming at him to take the knee off the neck ……. For 9 minutes 29…. Just happened to be incidental!

Oh and to be super clear. Imo George Floyd was murdered. "All lives matter" is a racist campaign. White supremacy is real. Anything but being actively anti racist isn't enough.

Annoying racists on the Internet until they block me is fun.

There's the appeal right there, your Honour our clients were justified in murdering him because he had ingested drugs that would have killed him in time..

They did him a favour tbh..

Pardon your Honour, well yes they had no way of knowing what he had taken and yes it could have been M&Ms and harmless if course but you know him being black and all..

Get the f#ck out of here..

Vile and pathetic attempt to justify murder of another person based upon skin colour..

Shameful..

The fact you posed this question highlights the issue with “black lives matter”

The fact people are trying to highlight social injustice towards a minority group of people is clearly not racist.

The issue is that by having an organisation called “black lives matter” it allows people to attempt to question the purpose of the organisation and turns the focus away from the real issues towards pointless nonsense over the name of the group.

If people had spent the past 5 years talking as much about social injustice as they have about it it’s right or wrong to say Black Lives Matter then the world may just have been a brighter place for us all.
