Tonight will be my first time back at the gym doing a full gym session after I suffered my heart attack and had a stent put in!
I am incredibly nervous but eager to get this weight off! I have purchased a new watch that helps me monitor my heart and Blood oxygen levels so fingers crossed I can keep it all at a safe level …
I know it’s not normally something people post on here and it’s personal to me but just wanted to share it with you lovely people!!
If you don’t hear from me again you know what hahahaha!!
Take care all and stay safe x |

"Hope everything goes ok fella, one step at a time "
Yea I will take it relatively slow but I need to get my heart rate up to the point I start burning calories… so that’s what the watch is for to monitor it all …
Fingers crossed |

"Amazing achievement! Well done
Are you being monitored by anyone either at the gym or have you got a circuit to follow from the doc? Take it steady x let us know how it goes! "
I have the option to book a PT for an hour so may take them up on it just to get some more advice! But I use to gym a lot so I have circuits and routines I have in place already but just going to have to adapt them to make sure my heart doesn’t give out haha…
I will let you know how I get on x |

OP Have you heard of the GP Gym referral scheme?
It's normally heavily subsidised and it does vary on what is on offer from area to area. It is specifically aimed at people in situations like yours. They are normally monitored gym sessions. The instructors will help you to work out which exercises would be best for you so definitely something to look into. |

Thankyou I will definitely look into this, howeve then gym I go to is a private gym so not sure if the nurses would be able to assist me in there or not? Or did you mean the PT’s from my gym? |

It wouldn't be at your gym it would be at a council Gym. So here how the scheme works is you get 12 sessions for 20 pounds. They are run by the gym instructor and you basically do your own thing but they give you specific exercises and advice. |

Good luck, just build back up slowly. Even without something as serious as a heart attack you'd need to take a gradual approach to rebuilding fitness after time off. Maybe take some advice from a PT to follow a programme? |

"Sorry to be a bore but has your heart nurse said it's OK for you to go back to the gym? "
Yes I spoke with her 2 days ago and she has advised I can go back to the gym but there are conditions she has later out…
So it’s not going to be a full on session but still a good enough session to feel it |
