Do you buy branded designer label clothing and accessories?
Whats your most expensive and was it worth it?
Paid £120 for some Rockport boots years ago and they lasted ages and were very comfortable.
Tend to be in t-shirts and joggers now.

I buy stuff I like, my two favourite pairs or jeans are from Tesco and Armani respectively, I wouldn’t shy away from either end of the market if it was something that I thought looked good on me. |

Stuff with logos everywhere.
Not so much.
But I will veer towards things of better quality if possible, with an eye on fabrics, construction and most importantly fit.
I'd rather something cost 50% more but last twice as long, if not more. |

I tend to go for quality more for my money. Depending on the item and what it looks like if its designer or not I'll buy.
I've got some good bargains on items on ebay still with tags in auctions or on a sites sale never pay full price for stuff |

Not for everyday clothes as I don't like the idea of being a walking billboard for different brands with their logos plastered all over me. A lot of my gym stuff is branded though because for some reason sports brands can't do subtle ![](/icons/s/neutral.gif) |

It's difficult to avoid logos plastered all over these days, particularly outdoor brands.
I spend a lot of time outdoors and most of the clothing is now seen everywhere not just out in the countryside.

I'll only buy a particular brand of trainers. Clothing, more about quality than the label. I will pay over the odds for something that I can get cheaper and a similar quality |

Some branded things are good. M& S socks and knickers.
some designer things are only able to be worn once. Jimmy Choos on a bride's wedding day I discovered.
Some expensive things are high quality. Timberland boots and Kipling bags. Monsoon dresses. You only need to buy one.
The most expensive item of clothing I ever bought was my wedding dress. It was custom made and I chose the fabric, design, and lace. It was designed with a detachable bottom so that I could wear it again to a formal event. It was dark ivory not white. Lasted longer than the marriage. Lol! it was about £1000 excluding labour and materials.
I sew so anything I want I think carefully about whether the labour, quality and material is worth it or if I really want it, should I make it myself. |

Docs were £120.
Airforces were like £100.
And I wouldn’t pay any more than that for any single item of clothing but would spend up to £150 on trainers/ shoes. |

Lol@ sports bands.
Yeah I can't wear cheap gym shoes and I still need to have NHS custom insoles. I call them my old lady shoes. Lol!
I can't wear cheap sport bottoms because my actual bottom and thighs will rip them to shreds.
I wear cheap primark, H & m, Uniqlo, Decathalon, gym tops, cycling jacket and hoodies. |

I have "designer" clothes. But aren't all clothes designed ?
Anyway intend to buy for fit and quality.
So Boss (although jeans are too loose now), Hilfiger, Ralph etc. are my staples.
Shoes I have Oliver Sweeney, Boss, Grenson, Paul Smith and I have a pair of Zanetti hi tops which are a bit too small.
I have a few made to measure suits, shirts and a tux. I wear Orlebar Brown stuff on holiday.
But I also have lots of cheaper stuff. If it fits and is of good quality then I am happy to wear it.
I have spent most of my life just happy that I found anything that fits so not really that choosy. |

Depends…I do have some expensive boots from Fairfax and Favour, which cost nearly £500 and will hopefully last me forever, but you’re just as likely to find me in a £2 T-shirt from Primark…

In general, tendency is based on the quality of fabric & tailoring as opposed to brand name. Prefer not to wear anything with glaring logos (if designer - label must be inconspicuous). ![](/icons/s/2/cute.gif) |

I have pair of Boss cashmere touch jeans but also like Levi’s and Armani. Tesco Cherokee have a very good designer , he used to work for a high end brand and next Near East. |

I won't wear anything with logos or any kind of writing on it. I will invest in good quality shoes, coats and bags but happily fling them on with primark leggings and tee. |

Buy cheap you buy twice , my things have always lasted , however I do look for sales and bargains, I just got a really nice Barbour wax jacket half price but still cost a lot but I’m sure it’s got 20 years life span

Barbour jackets have earned their reputation and the price tag, though I laugh at all the tat that is branded Barbour these days (bikinis, bags, dog leads, handkerchiefs)
One thing I've learnt about designer gear is that the more obvious the branding, the lower it is in the range.
So people who walk around like a billboard may be wearing designer gear, but the snobs will still look down on them.
I'd rather pay for quality than a name (though sometimes, like Barbour, it's both) |

Bought few designer bags from charity shops. Paid less than £20.
Paid £350 for full length leather corset dress.
£100 for new rocks,
£150 for DMs and £120 for leather coat (20 years old and still going strong)
But aside from that, most of my clothes come from charity shops or shien. |

I think it depends what it is and how well you look after it. I bought a cotton blouse in Primark 20 years ago that I still wear. |

I fight with myself over whether I even want things to last years. I am trying to be more environmentally conscious, but I get very easily bored and can find myself getting angry at things which won't wear out so I can justify buying a new version! |

Quality footwear is worth the price- like you say a pair of Rockport will last years. Nike and New Balance footwear are quality goods, I never bothered with designer footwear (Gucci etc) Clothing brands like Carhart, Stussy, Mitchell and Ness are expensive but they high quality goods and good value |

Also, cheap things aren't necessarily poor quality.
I was looking at a pair of boxers that had some fraying and realised I had had them for areas 15 years.
They are Hanes and I bough them in the states for $10 for a box of 4.
I have thrown away areas 3 pairs of Boss undercrackers that are less than 2 years old.

Sorry cringe at shein. Ethics and quality wise for me it's no good. |

I really dislike Boss (other than the cashmere touch jeans) & Paul Smith and ships like Flannels. I have a Balmain T shirt that was £300 but a gift from a FB, I’d never pay that. |

I couldn’t give a toss who's name or brand is on my clothing, if I like it and it fits, I buy it, I do tend to ruin clothing though as I’m always messing about with something, car, diy, plumbing, gardening.
Most expensive thing I’ve got is a pair of trainers at £38. |

Gucci, Versace and the like, no...I do occasionally spend a little more on certain brand jeans, boots or runners but these would tend to last me 5 years +.
Quality and fit over showy labels any day and I'm not big into accessories, handbags or makeup - natural, simple, classy Mrs |

I was going to say I don’t buy branded stuff but actually that is not true. I tend to buy things that are well made and will last - I feel it is cheaper in the long run - and as a result I tend to buy from certain brands that I know will be quality.
These brands are not the mainstream “label” brands though. |

Most labels have been trashed by fakes or the brand dumbingdown on their products.
I go for something that catches my tase, then feel the material, then look at the price and if I am still interest i may try/buy - we both actually do that and one I trsuted years ago but not any more is M&S but i stillgo for the Easy brand, cheap and comfy. |

I used to buy branded clothing but I soon discovered that. Calvin Klein T-shirts were cheap t-shirts with label printed on it. I believe it's the same for most items, cheap materials and products with expensive logos printed on them. Waste of money. Most branded clothing involves s-l-a-v-e labour. And purposely designed to wear out after a few washes, so you buy more and more and more. That's the consumer market for you. Designed for stupid people. |

I feel like I’m at a car boot sale when shopping at TK Maxx you never know if you will find a hidden gem

I do but not obvious ones to others. I wear for example Spanish brand shoes as they suit my feet. I tend to go for quality over the name. I have a wool coat I've had for over 20 years now.
I'm not a fan of clothes or accessories that are obviously a brand. Like logos and names on clothes or Radley handbags with their dog.
If I had more money to spend on clothes etc, I'd prefer to spend on artisan companies not the mass produced stuff.

I tend to go for quality, fit and style over brand, and those things tend to be more readily available with "designer" stuff. I have an hourglass figure, most high street clothes just don't fit me properly (Primark for one doesn't seem to think that women should go in at the waist or have boobs over a C cup). Shoes and bags are generally better quality, and I feel are worth investing in as they'll last a lot longer than cheap ones.
I won't wear anything with massive branding or, shudder, completely covered in the designers logo. |

I bought some rock ports when I was 16 the good ones made in Portugal. I'm 41 now and they're still going, went up Snowden in them the other week. A steal at £200
As people have mentioned generally you're getting better quality with named brands. The only area I'm cheap is my boxers, I just get plain black ones. |

"I think too many people focus on brands rather than items that go together to make good outfits. You see people wearing entirely designer outfits but it looks awful and costs a bomb "
This is true, was out having a few drinks with E recently she said to me look at that bloke playing pool what is he wearing! my reply you do realise that clobber he has on would have set him back at least 3k I don’t care she said he looks like a gift wrapped turd.

Quite alot of the designer brands have been purchased by Sports Direct and they are not the same quality as before
i.e Pierre Cardin, Kangol, Calvin Klien etc
I think they just get the cheap clothes and print the label on them.

I spend more on coats & shoes/boots as I expect them to last a good few years!
The most expensive clothing/accessory I’ve bought is a DKNY handbag for $250AUD … that was my treat to myself with my first lot of wages!
Other than that I have a North Face winter coat which was £130 and I’ve got my eye on a SuperDry jacket at the moment for £90, which will be a birthday treat to myself ![](/icons/s/2/cute.gif) |
