I want to know. If a guy is short and under 6ft can he compensate for the lack of height by building a lot of muscle? Or will he always be unfuckable to you no matter how much he improves his physique?
I just want to know if i should waste my time or not. |

under 6' is not short. Some expectations of normal or average on here are weird. Had a profile take a pop at me for not being tall enough, her profile said "must be taller than me" she was 5'7". What she meant was 6'4" minimum. Yeah good look with that! Also, just say.... |

"There is someone for everyone’s tastes. Don’t measure yourself against others "
Sort of true. But this is a very competitive place where you have to look amazing otherwise you really won’t get far. Height matters a ton to women, but it’d be interesting to know if a muscular body can overcompensate for being short. |

I’m average looking and have a belly. I do just fine. It’s not always about looks. |

I would not waste your time , not because you’re unfuckable but I wouldn’t waste time changing my body for other people, do it for you, or stick with the sofa and Big Macs |

I'm 5'10" and OK I'm strong but not necessarily muscular but I have a great personality and it's that that most women prefer and like somebody else said do it for you not for a woman that doesn't exist yet |

I'm 5'10 and athletic.
I once knew a woman who said although I'm handsome and have a great body, she'd never date me as I'm below 6 foot....
...I said that was fine as I don't date women who weigh more than 11 stone. She didn't like that one bit. |

If I go by the unwritten demographics of this place then I'm "short and under 6ft"...and lacking in 'compensatory' muscle.
I would hope that I'm doing ok from a 'fuckability' perspective.
Don't give up. |

"Under 6-ft isn't necessary short.
I think confidence is a massive turn on a man, so maybe work on that instead of building muscle. And remember, the brain is the most powerful muscle"

don't bother matey.
people with the short hang-up will use it against you no matter what.
train hard and get muscular - you're a try hard, be the smartest man in the room - you can't protect her , be a ferocious fighter - angry little man, be successful in business and make a ton of money - napoleon syndrome, etc etc
dosen't even matter Why people can think like this, but some just do.
if you want to have a muscular body because it'll make You happy then do the work and earn the reward of feeling good.
lean into who you are and be the best at being you. x |

There is no need to "compensate" for lack of height or anything else... Always be you, then it guarantees you will always find your people! Anyone that isn't interested in you because of these things, just aren't for you and matter not. |

As soon as you think that you need to ´compensate’ to get laid, you are setting yourself to fail anyway.
Wanting to build some muscles is not a bad idea in itself, what is bad is believing that you need to compensate something you don’t have in order to be able to meet people on here.

Virtually every woman I've ever dated has been taller than me not by any selection process and I'm not really super short, just average short (5'6") and the way it's been. But then, they're the same height lying over my lap |

There's lots of women who only go for taller guys OP, you're right there but there's also a shit ton that dont care either way. Rather than try change the mind of a woman into taller guys by hitting the gym I'd rather just disregard them and concentrate on those that aren't only into tall guys.
I've found overall though that yes, your chances and the way you're perceived will improve dramatically if you build a Muscular physique. There's a reason stripper etc are all jacked with abs.
That being said I really wouldn't just hit the gym purely for aesthetic reasons and to please others. To build a decent physique (unless you're generically gifted) takes a great deal of dedication and commitment, if you're not doing it for your own enjoyment then that would be a sad existence |

Yeah hes 5ft 7, but under 6ft isnt automatically short. 5ft 10 or 11 is certainly not short by standards of avg height |

It sounds like you have a few specific members you’re interested in but have a height preference for the prospective meets.
Ultimately, you may come to see it as the waste of time you’re wondering it may be, as height may be non-negotiable and the change in physique will never guarantee desired outcome.
If you want to change your physique, only change because it’s something you want, not because of a notion that it will give you an advantage for meets on here.

5ft10 is the average height so they’d be average in the grand scheme of things but TO ME under 6ft is short since I’m 5ft11 just like a guy if 5ft7 is probably tall to someone 4ft11. I only really see guys as tall if they’re taller than me. |

I understand the 'to me' bit, no need to shout it. Hence why i referenced average height standards.
What started this nonsense off was you said, in response to the OP referencing under 6ft guys, that you werent into short guys. Ergo, it appeared you were suggesting under 6ft is short.
We all get now that what you meant was TO YOU under 6ft is short |

The general impression I’m getting is, bulking up won’t change a thing. If a guy is short then it’s game over no matter what.
I was just curious if there existed any women who would overlook height if the guy is muscular. It’s incredible how only a few women had the courage to actually answer honestly and say no. The others pussyfoot around the question and just talk about self acceptance, confidence and all that cliched feel good stuff. Whilst it’s nice, it’s not really answering the question. |

Not everyone is bothered about height.
But I guess if it is a strong preference for someone, body shape probably isn't going to budge their preference.
Also wanted to reiterate, not everyone cares about height. |

It may be a cliche, but actually it’s true.
The height wouldn’t bother me really, and I’ve met those shorter than me, and had partners shorter than me, but self confidence/self acceptance and happiness within themselves - if they don’t have that, then they are deal breakers.
I need someone to have emotional intelligence and self confidence/awareness and that is way more important than height.

If that's the general impression you got, I think you need to look over the thread again. It's not game over at all.
Do you know any women who fancy Tom Cruise, Zac Efron or Bruno Mars? I can think of a few.

You’re talking about incredibly wealthy famous people. It overshadows their lack of height. That’s why I was curious if muscle could also do the same. |

"The general impression I’m getting is, bulking up won’t change a thing.
Height is irrelevant to me. I've had serious boyfriends of height range between 5ft 5in and 6ft 7in.
Totally irrelevant to me. |

"I want to know. If a guy is short and under 6ft can he compensate for the lack of height by building a lot of muscle? Or will he always be unfuckable to you no matter how much he improves his physique?
I just want to know if i should waste my time or not. "
Anyone who is shallow enough to only judge someone by height isn't worth considering anyway. Height means nothing. A lot of women who are in the mid five foot region want a bloke taller than them. I've never understood this, other than the illusion of a big guy offering more protection (mainly false)
I'm a 5'5" ex paratrooper, former personal security in foreign countries and have worked doors on various nightclubs and have had to deal with others who were taller, bigger, fatter. Height means sod all. Its all down to how you project yourself |

Could say the same about preferences around facial hair, body size, hair colour etc! Could say those who won’t meet guys with beards for example are shallow! |

"Do you know any women who fancy Tom Cruise, Zac Efron or Bruno Mars? I can think of a few.
You’re talking about incredibly wealthy famous people. It overshadows their lack of height. That’s why I was curious if muscle could also do the same. "
You are incorrect. Women were going crazy for Bruno Mars before he had money. He is attractive for more than his money.
And I've never known a single woman go, "Ooh, Zac is sooo rich! He makes me want to rip my panties off!" But I've known a few - who didn't realise who he was back then - see him and go, "Dammmmnnn! Yes, please!"
Muscles don't compensate for height. Some things that do include:
Style
Personality
Humour
Fashion sense
Good smile
Nice eyes
Great butt
Good dad
Kindness
Physique
Sense of adventure
Etc.
And then there's the many women who wouldn't think height is something that needed to be compensated for. |

Nope, you're perfect as is.
I'd be worried if I was a man and a woman was all about height. Sounds like she's planning on breeding. Unless you're trying to "gene select" hight isn't an issue forest people. |

You could say the same about any preference though! Attraction is multi-faceted and many women are just more attracted to tall men. Nothing to do with breeding and in my case many positions just don’t work with a guy significantly shorter than me!! |

"Wouldn’t make any difference to me…not into short guys
*Shorter. Short is subjective
Yeah don’t put words in my mouth! I said what I meant.
That's fine, doesn't make it right though
I’m practically 6 foot myself so yep men under my height are short to me as I already stated in a previous comment!
But that's not the right word to use! Never mind, I can't be arsed to get into the semantics
The person asking the question is shorter than the average British male so short is appropriate! Or I could say I’m not into guys shorter than the average British male.
Yeah hes 5ft 7, but under 6ft isnt automatically short. 5ft 10 or 11 is certainly not short by standards of avg height
We all get now that what you meant was TO YOU under 6ft is short
Which I clarified within one minute of my original comment! Keep up!
Im very much up.
It had morphed into a mess between you and the other guy so it required me to step in and clear it all up once and for all
How kind of you to step in and explain on the good lady's behalf. She could have been in a real pickle if nobody had been around to articulate for her."
I didnt explain it to her specifically, i clarified it for all reading |

I like tall guys with nice biceps, my husband is 5.7 and after 20 years together he is finally working in the biceps.
It’s him I fell for, be yourself and be confident with it, the right person will see you for you |

Lol, yes, I fully understand if that is the case.
I was more thinking about on Tinder where every guy over 6ft feels he has to mention it. It must be a deal breaker for a lot of younger women.
I do like really tall men also really tiny men. Some of the porn I'm into is "fun sized guys"

I find myself drawn to taller men, however ultimately other factors outweigh height when it comes to attraction. So long as they're taller than me (5'1!) |

OP what you’ve done is fallen into the classic trap that many of us do, you’ve focused on what you can’t have rather than what you can. If a woman has a height criteria, you’ll find nothing in a gym that will help you solve that.
I’d focus more on your confidence, there’s definitely someone for everyone on here - just don’t let your height define you. |

Very well put. Self-acceptance is the key to confidence, none of us are going to have universal appeal - and why would we need it? |

"There is someone for everyone’s tastes. Don’t measure yourself against others
Sort of true. But this is a very competitive place where you have to look amazing otherwise you really won’t get far. Height matters a ton to women, but it’d be interesting to know if a muscular body can overcompensate for being short. "
Is it really that competitive though?
If you spend your time comparing and competing your won't get far.
A good salesman never has to mention his competitors and focuses on his or her own product.
I'm not 6 foot or muscular and I'm much older with very little experience when joining aged 52 but none of that has ever held me back.
The two most important words for success as a single man are patience and consistency. |
