"Only once to dry some clothes after getting caught in a downpour! "
Yeah we haven't put the tumble dryer on since March. Getting harder to get clothes dried now though.
Dried quick on the line today though. |

"Yes, so mild here, 20 degrees tomorrow. With the price of wholesale gas tumbling let's hope the Winter is not as tough as first thought."
Fingers crossed.
Our electric company actually put our direct debit down to a third of what it was because we'd built up so much credit.
I'd have preferred it to stay the same over the winter though, just in case. |

"Nope , thermostat set to 15 mostly and had a few coal and wood fires but haven’t noticed silly prices yet, £15-£20 a week combined gas/elec so far."
Been holding off buying wood/coal as everywhere seems to have doubled their prices.
Think we'll be loading up in a couple of weeks though. |

"to November without putting your heating on?
I know we're not quite there. But the end is in sight... "
No. I was raised in the tropics. I refuse to sit in my flat below 18 degrees Celcius. It's a basic human right. |

A hot water bottle would be nice. Ellen's having hot flushes though so not yet |

Actually yes…..it’s been not too bad, have been using a hot water bottle on occasion but with my work I’m often out when the heating would normally be put on! I do need my boiler looked at so once that’s done I’ll probably start putting on the heating if it gets mega cold |

I know wood but know nothing about coal so took expert advice and bought a garage full of supatherm at first risk of energy prices rising 12 or so months ago. The Little Rock’s are like mini nuclear reactors , I put maybe 4 or 5 on and one piece of wood and it’s like a sauna |

No. But it's been extremely limited. Since I got a fleece hoodie thing I've been toasty. Not Sartorial but toasty! |

No heating and barely any electricity used. Since April i have used £120 of Leki and just paid an estimated gas bill of £22.22p...most of which was standing charge as I only turned the gas on to commission the boiler.

"Had it on once to dry some jumpers at £7 just to dry them it won't be going back on for a while.
Mrs "
Drying clothes is definitely proving trickier than staying warm. Luckily it's pretty windy where we live so just about managing to do it on the washing line, for now... |

We have made it. We have just put on extra clothing and have sofa blankets. Our elderly mother lives with us, so when it gets really cold we will have to put it on low, just to keep the dampness at bay. We also have electric blankets to put on our beds and sofas. |

I run pretty hot generally, and I’m lucky to be on the middle floor in a 3 storey block…
My downstairs neighbour’s heating keeps the temperature nicely comfortable as the heat rises, without getting me too hot and steamy |

Yep
I hardly put it on anyway - probably not until December- then run it through until March.
£600 in credit with the EC at moment, so all good.! |

"I have caved! Was so cold when I got back from the gym that I knocked the thermostat on while I was having a soak in the bath.
It's back off again now though!"
I did have a little moment earlier where I wondered if it was time. It doesn't actually feel so cold now though. |

Depends if the wife remembers it's there. I know it turns on occasion but only for about 20 minutes to heat the house to take the edge off in the morning. |

"I’m cheating , I’m sprawled on the sofa snuggled in an electric throw … the electric blanket is pre warming the bed nicely "
Haven't got to that stage yet. Think the electric blankets will be on soon though... |
