What’s your Spotify, or other music app like right now. Mine has too many playlists at the moment and some are losing their themes. I like control, organisation, neat and tidy. I need to do some serious admin on it |

"My liked songs on Spotify is rather eclectic.
I usually just ask Alexa to play me some music."
Quite a few of mine are going that way. I hate getting into a specific mood but then it throws out something totally different.
It’s why I could never just ask for something random.
Is it not like just listening to the radio |

"I only have about 4 playlists on my Spotify the main one is over 40 hours long though
What kind of theme do you have that’s 40 hrs long? "
It has everything on no real theme it spans nearly 100 years going from the 1930s to the 2020s always played on random so you never know what is coming next |

"I use YouTube at home, just pick a genre and let it figure a playlist out
Oh god I don’t think I could cope with not having any say on it "
You can make your own playlists if you want, I have a few. Sometimes I just want some music on and don't want the admin of DJing it. It's great for niche music too, I'm not sure were else has the same variety, any song I have wanted to listen to is on there, even really obscure ones.
Managed to find a B side radio edit of an Atari Teenage Riot track in seconds. |

Started well with 80’s, Film Soundtrack or Romantic but now it’s ‘Today’ or 2022. "

Currently have 40 playlists on my Spotify, some are the curated playlists by Spotify or others, some are my own. One playlist maxes out at 48 hours, others are only a few rare ones. Gives me enough choice to suit my mood! |

I don't do technology, so although I have an Alexa it's only used to play tracks that I already know on those occasions that I can't be bothered to go and put the radio on for 5 minutes or tee up a CD for a longer session.
Mixes are things that I create for myself, and I still buy and use CDs (and minidisk, if I'm honest)
I bought a new CD on Sunday, in fact. By Swedish group First Aid Kit
I am unashamedly an analogue man in a digital world!

So just the 2 curated playlists.
I’m intrigued by your driving one. I tried that but I have different moods, different driving, fast/slow etc |

I don't tend to use playlists (although I do have a couple for long drives). I just let it play random songs from my library. One minute it could be Sixpounder by Children Of Bodom (death metal), the next it could be Minor Swing by Hot Club De Paris (gypsy jazz). |

I have genre specific playlists on my Spotify, then I have a mush mash playlist of stuff I hear on radio that I like that I then add to which I find keeps me up to date with new music.
I also have a sleep playlist which is linked to my Alexa that I use to help me drop off. |

My playlist is random. I have eclectic tastes, and like individual songs rather than artists or genres as a rule. Unless I'm in a specific mood I prefer what I'm listening to to skip about all over the place. |

I'm quite the same old fashioned when comes to tech. I never have downloaded a song from anywhere , i never have created a play list, if at home i just put YouTube if driving is the same YouTube or radio , usually Capital or Greatest Hits radio |

Hmm I do have one called random shit which was stuff I couldn’t decide which playlist to put it on. That’s just getting bigger, yet I have loads of playlists and should be able to find somewhere for it to go. |

No real playlists. Just add a song to my likes list and put it on shuffle. Spotify has genres at the top of your liked songs anyway in case you fancy listening to a certain type of music |

I find Spotify infuriating.
I've shot music videos for artists for Spotify and then not been able to just watch them because they're buried in a playlist and you're not allowed to skip through them. So same need for control just different I guess. |

Once, many years ago I spent over eight laborious months ripping over 3,000 CDs into 'lossless' FLAC format to play on my SONOS.
...and then a short while later 'lossy' music streaming services came along. |
