Once I've recognised that I've started down a dark path I try to calmy walk myself through my emotions and understand where these feelings are coming from in the most pragmatic and level-headed way I can.

I would say if you are in a dark place then please please please reach out to someone... I hit that place a few weeks so totally get where you are.... One thought at a time, one step at a time, one day at a time... My inbox is always open x |

Do something I enjoy that I may not have done in a while. It breaks up my routine and provides a great release of energy. Do you have anything like that? It happened to me a few weeks ago and it feel awful. I hope you feel better soon OP? |

I love to go horse riding when im feeling down.
I also have a friend that I can call day or night and she knows she can call me at anytime.
I don't think we were designed to live in a fast-paced world like this. Sometimes we need time out.

I don't allow my head to get full of shit or be in a dark place, i stay away 24/7 365 away of situations that can lead to that state. Reading peoples energy , body language and people actions really protects my mind, aura and my soul |

Get mobile any way I can. A change of scene, the enorphins. Both seem to help.

Exercise is 100% effective, the blood pumping around clears your mind and body, I feel 10 times better after a workout,which at the moment is mainly swimming but any sweaty workout is good for your mind |

First thing is that you recognise that you have an issue.
Second is making a decision to allow it to control you or you take control.
Sometimes that is easy and sometimes it's not easy.
I find that I am more vulnerable when tired so that's the first thing I action, I recognise I'm tired so ignore all of the emotional noise and get a good sleep. That usually sorts it.
However if its something bigger and still bothers me then the very best thing is to talk to someone about it.
The person you have the issue with (work or personal) or a trusted friend or 2. Failing that a support group or medical help.

Can I just say another thing that I did when I went through really bad patch, sounds daft, but I had regular chats with myself in the mirror and it really does help, like I said it's sounds daft but helped me |

Try getting some exercise and talking to people close to you, or just keep talking. Try to write your feeling down, it might help. If you feel this way for a few weeks, it’s ok to reach out to your GP for support. You are not alone. |

Reach out to friends, get outside for a walk, lift heavy stuff in the gym or write (brain dump onto paper and then burn it).

I let my other half know these days (I never used to open up though), I clean / tidy up a little - because it needs doing but no other reason- and hit the game consoles hard. |

I usually go for a run in a park or remote area, get some clear oxygen in the body, exhaust myself physically...when I start it's like a tornado of thoughts, by the end of the run it starts to clear out. |
