"Mee!! Awful I am x"
People say there's nothing wrong with me and yet at times I think there wrong and can find issues with my body that's not there.
Hard habit to completely break |

Often these things are quite deep rooted and need some professional support to help you to understand what you are feeling and why and maybe give you some strategies to help you feel more comfortable in your own skin.
Maybe a chat with your GP might be worthwhile. X |

"Yup. Not as much any more but some days are tougher than others. Often depends on what type of mirror i’m in front of."
I know it is how you feel about yourself that really is what is going on here.
But!
I think you have got a fantastic body |

My best friend suffered hugely, I lost her 5 and a half years ago, if you do have suffer from it, please do get help, even on a platform like this, talking about it etc.
She was absolutely beautiful, the most beautiful smile, her teeth! Everything about her was just stunning but she could never, ever see it.
We all have hang ups about our bodies (mostly) if course we do but for others it's deep rooted, so please, from the bottom of my heart, please do get talking and try to believe people when they say you are beautiful.

I think many of us experience this OP. I do and others are saying same here so you’re not alone. But the things that trigger your dismorphia will be those things which someone else is attracted to. |

Yep I (mr) get this a lot. Some days lifting goes really well, get home and catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I really don’t like what I see. Next day I can walk past the same mirror and think I look pretty lean.
I generally use three things to gauge my body now. Mirror, scales and weights on lifts. As long as two out of the three are improving then I’m doing something right |

I used to be really into body building, the more I went to the gym the worse the dysmorphia got. Looking back at the photos now, I was in amazing shape. At the time all I could see in the mirror was a skinny guy with no muscles. |

I do yes but it's much better these days. At one point it completely consumed me.
I've been focusing on changing my mindset over the last year or so, and that along with weight loss has made such a difference.
I think it's important to always try to remember that your appearance does not define you as a person. You're more than a number. Your body does wonderful things.
It's so tough. And I still have some pretty shitty days, but overall I'm better than I've ever been.
Have you spoke with your doctor? Maybe he could refer you to some sort of therapy which could help?
Sending a virtual hug. |

I do, some days I think I look good but most I'm saying to myself that it's no wonder I struggle at the moment to find someone that wants me for me.
Doesn't matter how many people say I look great or feel great while running their hands over me because in my head I can't believe it |

Wherever I lay my hat |
I suffered with it terribly for over 40 years from late primary school to the age of 50. It had such a debilitating impact on my social life, my sex life and my long term relationship. I finally came to terms with my many imperfections as a woman who has had 3 kids in her 50s. It is not easy to learn to accept - then eventually love - yourself but it is truly life changing. The self-respect and confidence that you gradually start to build becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Sending love and hugs to everyone struggling with self doubt x |

I work out up to 6 days a week, stand on the scales daily. I do eat alot better now than before so have a better relationship with food. I've never liked my body growing up and even though im told I'm attractive i don't always believe it. Some days are better than others. |

Constantly. I can think I look both underweight and overweight at the same time. Especially as I've always been around competitive athletes, you compare on stats, results, races, wins and if you're bigger/smaller than those you're racing against.

Me.
Struggled with my size all my life, never been slim
Used to make my own clothes and they would always be way, way, too big, so convinced was I that I was absolutely mahoosive!
Acceptance has been a long journey, but I'm getting there. |
