Lying in bed stressed about work, Christmas, kids and life in general.

Would wake up Mrs Noobs but she's full of flu and needs her sleep, poor thing.

What's the next best way to get back to sleep?

Don't try and force sleep.

Get up, get a brew, get on the couch and turn the TV downstairs on low

It'll be a distraction and in my case at least is usually more conducive to sleep than lying silently in the dark.

On another note OP, just had a quick glance at your profile - great pics - nice to see something different

A couple of good slugs of decent brandy should knock you out. Try it tonight if you can't sleep again.

Forget about trying to sleep. Have a nice bath put clean pjs on , have clean sheets on bed put a film on DVD that you have seen more times than you can count and sit up in bed to watch it on low. Bet you won't see past first 10 mins cos I never do

And I would stay away from the booze as some times it's too easy to end up thinking you need it to sleep.

For one reason or other I have suffered insomnia for the last 2 months... Just laying in bed thinking this and that... Get up watch tv with a cuppa watching the minutes tick by! Then I downloaded an audio book app!! Choose a boring book to listen to, plug your headphones in and drift off to sleep! It works for me, I am now getting at least 4-5 hours sleep a night!!

This isnt a pun, but for a guy, an orgasm is one of the best things to make you feel sleepy - so if the mrs isnt offended, have a quick wank then settle down.

I find that getting up and doing something helps - how about heading to the 24 hr supermarket while it's quiet and getting some of the Christmas food shopping done - there are plenty of things that will keep. And you can look at toys and gadgets and price stuff up and get info.

Then head home, brush your teeth and creep into bed and you've got a good chance of kip and you'll feel virtuous too.

This is very true! If Luke is having trouble sleeping I will often give him a hand!
