Fresh Cream Slices with Icing on top.

I'd given fresh cream a miss (or only at certain times) but this last few weeks because there has been a shortage of egg custards In local co-op store I'd fallen back on the slices their so beautiful but calorie wise and health wise I try and give fresh cream a bigger miss gone are the days when younger and such things were a regular treat, Who else enjoys such treats still or like me tries to go round them on health grounds except on occasions..  |

I still enjoy custard I use to love trifles with custard and cream in them, when you miss out fresh cream or deprive yourself of it over a good period of time and then Indulge In it again Wow you realise the amazing flavour and texture of this nothing else like it substance in the world.  |

It actually doesn't! Turn it so the layers are vertical rather than horizontal, and get yer teeth round it.
It's like how flipping a burger upside down stabilises it. |

They're super easy to make, especially if you use ready made pastry |

I've noticed that the egg custards have been running out of stock more frequently than other Items in
the year alongside, people seem to love them.. The ready made pastry seems a good option. |
