I guess I’m ambivalent on this one. They certainly wouldn’t be a turn off in anyway but can’t say I particularly turned on by them either , they are what they are |

You can see them on my last 2 pics.
If someone manages to get me naked, then I'll be pretty certain they won't be the type of person to be turned off by a very normal body. |

I've had stretch marks since I was a teenager. And they really don't bother me in the slightest. I do wish that they weren't always associated with having kids. Men have them, women who have never been pregnant have them. We don't have to hide behind child birth to justify having them. |

Ssssh don't ruin it for him.

Ssssh don't tell her...
Seriously, it's rubbish. Let them stay lost. |

Got them all over my body and hubby doesn’t give a flying fig. It shows I’ve grown 2 lives and currently growing another. I think women who choose to show them off are very brave. |

"So off the back of the Scars thread. What's people's thoughts on stretch marks, do they turn you off?
As for me they don't put me off, I actually quite like seeing them on boobs and hips. "
I like them on men. There was a guy at school who was tall and one of the first boys to get muscles and he had them on his shoulders....I still have sexy dreams about him so.....Stretch marks on men?: yes please. |

I agree with this, I had them before I had kids too but having children propelled them into showing up all over my body in a short amount of time. |

The wife’s really self conscious of hers but I love them. We haven’t had any complaints so far, if we did then they can swing one!
Wouldn’t put us off meeting anyone at all. |

Not fussed. They're weird things though. Pregnancy gave me a load of them on my boobs but not a single one on my belly which actually, y'know, accommodated a whole new person. How does that make any sense? |

My stretch marks is part of me . If you really like me, it won’t bother you, same with my mum belly. If it puts you off, walk by.
I’m a happy meal and I come with toys.

Being turned off by stretch marks is like saying your skin offends me.... I first got stretch marks when growing into a young lady and pubity hit. Then when I lost my father when I was 12 I eat more then my body was able to keep up, and then lost a lot of weight at 16 so my body has had to adjust as I grow.
I love that I have little stretch marks around my breasts, my hips, my bum and thighs.
Yes I was selfconscious at a stage because I grew up in the 90's/2000's and if you were not Kate Moss with porcelain skin you were not good enough. So I have a negative subconscious bias towards imperfections but Its a mental switch that's hard to switch off. |

It's not as dramatic as saying someone's skin offends you |

Not 100% sure only women get lines of time and adventure on their bodies let alone mothers.
"
Definitely not only women, have had male partners with stretch marks, and it doesn't even have to be big people (men or women) or having had a child to have stretch marks. I have them and have had them since I was 14 in various places, even before I put on weight. My sister is a size 8 and she has had stretch marks since her teens. It's just a weakness of the tissue and people prone to it can't do much about it. |

It’s a fact of life that bodies change shape and size over the years - weight fluctuates for most people and stretch marks can be a bi product of that, honestly I’ve exercised my whole life and I still have some - I barely take notice of them and I’ve never had anyone mention them before
Embrace what you’ve got x |

This.
It's especially hard when that's the assumption and you're a woman who desperately wanted children and was unable to conceive |

They are part of who we are and our journey through life. Nothing will erase them so embrace them - or at least accept them and be kind to yourself. I find these threads really affirming as a woman who wasted so many years worrying that my imperfections would turn guys off when most are completely oblivious to them. |
