So next month Netflix is bring out a cheaper alternative
That will include ads in the middle off movies and such for £4.99
Will you be downgrading your package or will you stick to what they now calling Netflix premium

It's such a minimal reduction in cost for additional annoyance whenever watching anything. Hardly seems worth taking that offer.
(Also, it's a bloody cheek to charge people to watch adverts. And I know others have done this. It does not make it right.) |

Freevee do exactly that, for nothing. As the name implies. Okay, the films exactly aren't top notch but neither is Netflix's really. Freevee does have brand new Judge Judy though, that's worth a look at least. |

That’s what I was also thinking yes by all means put in ads but make it free don’t charge people at the same time dubble profiting |

Ads will be 15-30 seconds and play before and during content. It will be interesting to see how many there are. People opting for the ads should be told how often they play though to give them accurate info to make a decision |

I would rather pay an extra £2 a month to be able to get full access to all the content and have no ads. Sometimes if we are going away or nothing we know we want to watch is being released I will cancel it for a month. We probably do that about 3 times a year. |

That's going to be annoying as sometimes you just want/need to binge watch.

I'd want assurances of how regularly and for how long these adverts run.
I started watching the Al Jazeera Labour Files videos on YouTube recently. There are 4 videos at around 80 minutes an episode.
The first video ran with a couple of adds at the start and then no more. The second and third would regularly stop for ads and in both instances for around the last half hour there were ads every 5 minutes. It actually made me stop watching before I finished all 4 videos. |

But who wants a worse service?

I suspect so. It was leaked at the beginning of the year that they were going to do this too. The 'leak' was probably also to get people used to the idea and also gauge reactions.
We have come full circle back to cable/sky TV. Streaming will become an ad infested hellscape until the next big disrupter comes along. |
