With news that energy bills will top 4k by April.

Are people changing their behaviours at all? Anyone looking at getting different energy supplies organised?

We've been doing this for best part of a year and I've yet to see any strategic initiatives to switch or reduce energy or assistance in so doing? Did I miss it?

Be so many families who won’t be able to afford those prices. We haven’t put out central heating on at all yet and I know this time last year we would of by now.

Working myself to death, walking to and from work no matter how late, cold, dark or dangerous it is. That's what I've got to look forward to.

Was actually thinking of getting some cheap duvets and drawing pinning them to the curtain poles coz my windows get proper draughty to the point the curtains blow.

I'm on a prepay meter so already paying higher prices.

I think there are only so many things that you can turn off, or go without. I don't think anyone is being frivolous with their energy usage.

I was under the impression (possibly misunderstood or misread) that over 50% of our energy was now from renewable sources which in theory should be immune to global events? I'm struggling to understand what's happening with the remaining 50%...we surely dont import all of it do we?

Prices are set by the highest price.

So if we have 5 different types of energy, the cheapest costs £1/unit and the most expensive costs £10/unit, we pay £10/unit.

The numbers are invented to illustrate the point, but yes. We pay the highest rate for all energy

I am refusing to buy their energy beyond the very bare minimum. I have candles and a dog.

I've bought a log burner, there's lots of logs in our garden (left by someone) so it will be warm in the living room. However can't get anyone to fit it until the new year. I looks great though

I might cut the plug off the wife's magic wand so she'll have to rely on non electrical toys in future, such as my knob.

Based on your pics, you could probably heat the whole house with that cock. Looks like it throbs red hot, get the missus on that right away.

I'm not going to put the heating on this winter! Have throws to keep warm! Use the eco setting on the washing machine and instead of using oven using the slow cooker and air fryer x

Does that count as coercion? Or energy saving?

Brought my log burner with me to wales……. It was too efficient to sell before moving ( my buyers did not want it). It is sitting in the outhouse because no one can install it this year. I still have the open fire, cut down a heap of trees when I moved in here and have masses of logs in the shed that I can’t burn until next year………. I’ve bought some in, but they’re getting ridiculously expensive this year, so have my big blanket to wrap up in

Can you tape around the window where the air comes through? I've just used sellotape on my windows and it's worked. They also do a sticky foam draught excluder strip on a roll for on doors.

We've only got electric storage heaters, we bit the bullet and put the one on in the lounge the other week as it seems to be all we need, the smart meter tells me we've used a fiver before 7am everyday now, I actually feel sick when I see it at nearly £8 by the time we are half way through the day when we've done washing.

In an ideal world id love to not put my tumble dryer on but we have no where really to hang it in our house and seems to take days to dry, even in the summer. Seriously considering sneaking a bag of washing into work a couple of times a week!

I am kinda burying my head in the sand at the moment about it all, peeping out occasionally but we can only pay what we can afford...on the plus side I have given up smoking so that's an extra £350 a month we've saved!

Isn’t it a sad world where we have to feel scared to put any electric or gas item on. Things will get really bad come next April if this dodgy lot don’t do something before then
