Disappointed sometimes but I tend to average it out against the other days of the week and not feel so bad.
10 000 is no hard number to crack. ( as long as I make it routine i.e. I walk to the shops and back. I walk to the train station and back. That's 10,000 without even walking if you know what I mean ) |

Nope. I don't feel guilty but I do find that now I don't work it's far easier to walk more.
My dad finds the whole counting steps thing hilarious. He simply can't understand why anybody wants or needs to know how many steps they've taken or how far they've walked.

No but my boss in my previous job used to make me feel very guilty. She would stroll i to the office at 11.30am saying she had already done 18k steps and would say "how many have you done today?"
What she forgot was I'd been sat at my desk for 3 solid hours working. It's so easy to do a lot of steps if you don't have to be at work. |

I had a colleague who once proudly told everyone that while she never managed a thousand steps a day most days she was managing six or seven hundred and that was close enough. She refused to believe it was ten thousand steps a day and refused to believe it was something most people did! |

I feel relieved. It means I've had a day where I've not had to do much walking which is always lovely.
25,000 is my daily average atm and it's exhausting. |

Targets are good, but arbitrary recommendations should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Exactly. My step target was set for me by a qualified professional, and was based on my abilities and fitness goals at the time.
Is it 10k? No.
Is it realistic? Yes.
