So I’m 51 now and get a lot of messages from younger guys.
Can I ask; is it a genuine thing when they say they have a thing for older women? Or is it they think they’re more likely to get somewhere with us as we’re older and possibly more desperate ..? By the way I am definitely NOT saying older women are more desperate. Just wondering if that’s how mens minds work. Guys: please be honest with your replies |

It's probably a mixture. One of my friends gets approached by younger men. Some think it will be easier to get an older woman and they tend to be very rude if they're rejected. Some have a fetish and then there are an elite few who appreciate the explosive mental and physical exhilaration of a beautiful mature woman. |

I can't speak for everyone, as you'll always get everything and sundry in between.
As to viewing older women as easier, meh, I'm not so sure that's even true from a technical stand point or from the perspectives of some men. From what I've heard it's basically impossible regardless.
Personally, it's about the individual. A fine woman is a fine woman is a fine woman. Now I loathe the age is just a number phrase, it isn't, but people are individuals. Free to assess and choose compatibility in line with their own personal requirements.
To chose someone as suitable just based on age, would be ironically churlish, and hopefully sniffed out early doors if that sort of thing might bother someone.
So, I guess take each case on it's individual merits. If you feel objectified or disrespected, and don't want that, move on. There's always more. |

God, I’m going to be serious ( ), I do like older women no more than women of any other age but I like them because they generally enjoy similar conversation topics and have a similar in person vibe to me. On here, I don’t seek older women out though because it’s not something I fantasise or obsess over. But I’ve ended up connecting with older women and I imagine it’s for the reasons mentioned. |

It’s a very genuine thing. If I even tried to go into it now this would end up as an essay, but maturity in all walks of life is a damn sexy thing. That’s not to say I’m only attracted to older people. I’m attracted to attractive people and that’s a whole picture of who they are. Variety is exciting and there are some people in their 20s who are incredible. Older women have always had a particular appeal though and as I’ve got older myself I still find them incredible. |

Personally, I don't like to be so blunt as to say I have a thing for older women (although I totally do). Talking about their age/referring to them as an "older woman" is something I avoid unless they bring it up. I don't want her to feel like her age is what's attracting me, I'm attracted to her not her age.
To answer your question though I'd imagine some guys pursue older women in the hope they might be easy. |

Older women have always been a thing for me - it’s the confidence and has nothing to do with desperation.
I’d say if anything it’s harder to get an older woman as they can see through any BS. They’ve got the t-shirt and they also know what they want more.

I'm 55 and when I was in my early 30s loved my dates/ meets etc with older women, the maturity and life experiences were a turn on in many ways. Now I tend to look. Around my age or a little older. Maybe as younger women in general don't really go for maturer men unless they are wealthy/successful. |

I don't think they're easier to get. I just find them easier to talk to as I find they cut through the BS which means I can be more open and honest with them as opposed to reading between the lines. I wil be honest though and say that while there are plenty of sexy older women, it would be tough to find myself in a position of dating someone much older than me. |

From a personal perspective I generally tend to connect easier with people older than myself. I tend to find there’s less beating around the bush and older women tend to know what they want. Also in a lot of instances I think there can be over thinking, if you’re attractive you’ll get attention as guys will want to fuck you to put it crudely. The age part is irrelevant for that whether you’re 58 or 22, pictures on profiles will lead people to you and they’ll message based on what they see. |

1) Much harder to sleep with someone with an age gap compared to someone your own age, for example most tinder users are below 30. I guess its a bit like forbidden fruit?
2) Older women (And I presume older men too) seem to actually know what they like and actually participate in sex.
When I was a teen and in my early and early 20s, most women I dated or had any kind of chat with about this stuff either had no idea what they liked in bed or expected me to do everything.
3) Both the women i've had longer term chats with from here have been older women who arent getting enough at home (long term sexless marriage or a very vanilla partner) and both of them got freakier the longer they'd not been able to try the stuff they liked.

I'd guess it will be a mixture of every type, once chatting it's easy to separate the boys from the men. Personally, I have always had a better connection with people younger than me so not sure why anyone would think the same can't apply the other way around. To me there is this air of self assurance and confidence that older women possess. It has to be through life experience, and I think both men and women do have it.
This self confidence to me is innately sexy and attractive, and I think a lot of women aren’t aware that they have it, and this is where the confusion is when younger men approach them.
Like one example I can give was when my A-Level Biology teacher redirected me when I was going the wrong way, by grabbing my tie and pulling me back to where I should be. To her it was nothing, she probably did it completely by reflex. To me, I can still remember it 10 years later. |

Young Lady, you've nowt to worry about. It is genuine.
Older women tend to have less teenage angst about them (which can last decades) and have learned to love the skin they are in. Confidence and a lack of mind games is very sexy.
Their tastes have changed and having your own place is always a plus.
Women have always looked up to the older guy, so why not turn the tables?

I've always preferred older women.
I can't necessarily explain it, but from when I first started to look at women or girls in that way, I was more likely to fancy the teacher than a class mate.
I don't think older women are easier to get at all. I think it might be the opposite. Partly because they've heard all the BS before so none of the stuff guys usually try would work. |

I think you need to read what I wrote again. The topic is of younger men messaging older women on fab. Of course women regardless of age are aware when they are being hit on, I never said anything to dispute that fact.
What I did say is there would be confusion about about “why are young guys messaging me/interested in me?”
I think that’s due to societal expectations, especially modern culture which fetishises youth above all else. |

That's not how I read his comment. I took it as meaning some women aren't aware of their appeal to younger men which is pretty much what the original question was about too I think?
I don't think this is entirely a female thing either. As I've got older I don't really ever consider that much younger women might find me attractive and most likely they don't  But my point being it's not even on the radar so if it were to happen it would be a surprise.
Having said that Ellen still gets plenty of appreciative looks from blokes of all ages but then perhaps she's more aware of it because of that female awareness you mention. |

I like to chat before meeting and I find that a lot of younger men lose interest fast. For some I think it's a tick box exercise. Others are convinced we know what we want. But every guy is different. I have definitely met very mature men in their mid 20s and very immature 50 year olds. |

I’ve only ever been with older women. I have sadly never had the pleasure of a younger one yet. But I will be trying a lady the same age as me this coming weekend but she’s still a month or two older so I’m not really breaking the habit of a lifetime! |

When I was younger, I generally found that more mature women knew what gave them the most pleasure and didn't do things because they thought that's what men wanted regardless of if it actually was enjoyablefor them too. These combined meant the sex was better for us both.
That said its only a rule of thumb as some my age had it pegged (no pun) and some older would suggest things to do, that on deeper conversation didn't actually turn them on but 'all guys like that don't they?'
I knew some guys as we were heading into early 20s who had a mentality of wanting 'to bag a mature woman ' as some kind if tick box trophy or that 'older women are easier' and all basically failed due to having their bs sniffed out.

There's something so hot about a woman say 45 plus that still has an incredible body. There's a sexiness to a mature woman, whether that's life experience or just being raised better than damn Gen Z babies, who knows.

I like older women. I like women my own age and closer to my own age too. If I message any woman it’s pretty much nothing to do with her age at all.
I think on fab my age filters are broader than on any other site/ app I use to meet people which is reflective of the fact that on this site there are actually older women that like much younger men compared to other apps/ sites.
My older age limits are pretty flexible, I keep an open mind on connection and I know that them being older has no bearing on my attraction to them. I have lower limits of around 22 which I’m not going to budge on so I respect people having age boundaries. Just charge it to the game. |

My 2p worth is that some younger guys will think an older woman might not get as much attention on here as younger ones do so they are mire likely to be of interest as an older woman would be ‘flattered’ to get attention from a younger guy. So i think your original post is absolutely bang on the money! There will be some that find older women more attractive too ( im one!) but there will be lots that fall into your definition too xx |
