Does anyone else find it highly entertaining and amusing to watch the scramble for the parking spots nearest the school gates?

I’ve only just discovered the joy in watching this unfold, and I giggle my juvenile behind off.

Wait until it's raining. Then the fun begins.

But I'm usually too busy getting angry and swearing at the bad drivers trying to run over my children to laugh too much.

Gotta love those parents that park over the yellow ‘NO PARKING SCHOOL’ sign or next to the wall banner that say THINK! Your children crosse here, don’t park!!!

Same parents, every time.

Entertaining?

Nope. Used to fuck me right off. Parking on blind bends, double parking and opposite junctions.

Often women that didn't work in brand new Chelsea tractors who live half a mile down the road.

The joy of country living.

Arseholes.

Exactly this. I always walk my son to school. I can understand with really little ones, and those with mobility difficulties, but seeing older kids and teenagers being driven less than a mile always makes me sad.

shits creek

Drives me potty.

I stand there waiting for the bus and there's just no consideration for anyone else or anything else. They park across people's drives, over the lines, on the road next to where the bollardy bit is in the middle of the road so no cars can fit through. It's all horn bibbing and chaos twice a fucking day. Despise needing to get to work during school run time.

Does my head in how they always ignore the do not park signs and block the road up seems to be a fight every other week

No. I live on the same road as a primary school and have to time my comings and goings so I can park outside my house.

Yes, yes I know.....the school was there before I was, should live near a school if it bothers you ...blah blah blah.

I never make it and issue for the people taking or picking up. I just get mad with myself when I forget.

Plus it will soon be harvest festival/bonfire night/school play season so will have to fight for a space in the evenings as well

I walked to school every day of my school life. So has, and indeed will, my progeny. The local school has managed to get lines painted within about 50 meters of the school, so no-one can get particularly close anyway. Even if you live far away, you can still drop your little urchins a street away to save the bunfight. Unless they're too precious to walk 200m

Oh Indeed. Even funnier the parents who drive their child less than 500m, then spend 10minutes trying to squeeze their car into an illegal parking space or end up parking 400m the other side of the school. Must. Not. Walk.

It’s interesting to hear of parents criticising other parents for not parking responsibly when really it’s just because they are miffed someone parked on those zig zags before them

You would think all parents would want to protect all children on the roads but that’s not the case.

Yes you would think that... A little like those who speed through the village past the school gates.

Its one of the reason why, whenever I've moved house (8 times now) I make sure I NEVER buy one near a school.

That's fair enough. So many people though won't even walk 200m. Country people are excused
