There was a massive bang with a huge thud, like something heavy hitting the floor (It sounded like step ladders falling and a body hitting the floor) in the flat around 02.30 this morning. I got up and looked around, but could not see or find anything and now it's difficult to go back to sleep. It has spooked me out and I feel a bit nervous being in the flat. It has happened three times this month. |

could possibly be a neighbor falling out with bed or similar.
I know that sounds ridiculous but when one of my neighbours children collapsed in the bathroom in the middle of the night I heard the thud really loudly like it was in my house. |

It's probably something occuring in a neighbouring flat ....
I can often hear next door as clearly as if it were in my own house..
I can understand how it's spooking you though, especially in the small hours.
There will be a logical explanation for it though... |

My bedroom has the loft hatch in it... Three times over the last year I've woken to find it hanging down halfway.. Properly freaked me out.. Especially as when you put it back it closes with a clunk and needs a fair bit of effort to open |

The differential in air pressure in the loft and the house will be responsible - there will be a gust if wind which increases air pressure in the loft and blows the hatch open - lucky it’s there or it would blow the ceiling down… probably!! Or its a creepy neighbour nicking your knickers out the laundry basket via a secret hatch between his loft and yours…. |

Things that happen when we're close to, or within, transitional states, such as half asleep, are likely to be absolutely not the times when we should point fingers at anything other than our brains. |
