Has anyone been to Berlin in December? Planning a trip there, any tips or recommendations?

Not the best to be honest (but it’s a great city), if you want a really good Xmas market I’d go to Nuremberg or Cologne over Berlin.

Bavaria is more Christmassy. Try Stuttgart. Or, of course, Vienna and Salzburg.

Loved our visit in 2019…but have never been to any other cities for Christmas markets.

Our favourite was the market at Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, especially at night

I've always fancied doing this, right from seeing the film "The Night Train Murders", where the opening is set at the Munich Christmas Market.

It just looks so inviting!

Yeah cologne is a nice one but I find the smaller towns are nicer. Spent 6 months in Osnabruck and Bremen was nice.

Yes we have before pandemic so assume it’s back to normal. Three big Christmas markets in Berlin and we enjoyed it very much. All the usual tourists things to do and the markets are close to many of them.

Stay close to the underground if you don’t stay in the city centre proper. Very easy to get around but lots of distance walking.

Insomnia if you want to go to a proper sex club. KitKat is mainly a normal huge nightclub with a few play areas.

Also been to Cologne Christmas market which was amazing but Berlin (with its tourist attractions and chilled atmosphere) overall easily beats it.
