First plane flight in over 20 years

Currently, get there early, security takes an age
Have all your stuff ready for when you get to the front of the security queue (coat/belt off, electrical out, liquids in plastic bag etc....the security delays really aren't helped by every other person fannying about doing all of this when they reach the station, rather than at any other point during the two hours they've been queueing, despite being reminded to do so every five minutes. |

"Give me your top airport tips please" stay away from bars number one you'll get pissed and they'll bar you or divert plane in mid flight to eject you and number two you'll be queuing for toilet all the way back |

Book a lounge if you can, makes waiting for your flight a much more pleasant and chilled experience. Hope you have a good trip OP!"

I know I have to stick my liquids in a sea through bag, but should I stick it in my suitcase or in my carry on bag, the internet is very confusing on this |

Only liquids under 100ml can be taken in hand luggage. If you have hold luggage, put as much as you can in there. Some people do a toiletries click & collect order to Boots at the airport which is after security & you can take those onboard with no limit

"Agree on booking a lounge if you can. Keep an eye on the departure board for boarding time and allow yourself enough time to get to the gate.
Be patient and prepared to wait a lot."
Well luckily my airport is pretty tiny, was planning on being there 2 and a half hours early though as I'm bound to make mistakes and take twice as long |

Buy a suitable small case that you can carry on board and,
to quote Sir Jimmy Savile,
"Don't take any more gear with you, than you will really need!"
Jimmy always travelled very lightly wherever he went, and famously left little evidence of his presence! |
