I’m just going through my junk mail… removing the letter bit with details on to shred it and then putting all the other paper and envelops in the recycling bin. Anyway, you know the type of stuff…. everyone wants to offer you a new credit card, house and car insurance, loans and stuff like that. I don’t normally bother to read what is inside, but something caught my eye and I had to double check I wasn’t seeing things. An offer of a special Christmas loan of a few hundred pounds to have a fabulous festive season and a super low repayment of £5 per month… at 129% APR… what the fuck!
Just who is that friggin' stupid! |

It must be a misprint surely?
On a different note, I used to just shread the address on the outside, then realised they had the address in the middle too and I had been throwing that part in the bin !!

There is currently a TV advert on, ( one about cash till you get your wages paid ) short term loans, I dont know the company, but I did glimpse the APR, in excess of 1,000 % , yes 1,000 % , borderline legalised loan sharking, this is targeted at the people in society who cannot use regular credit avenues.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE anyone tempted by these please look up credit unions in your area first. |

OMG!!!
Talk about prey on the weak and the needy (or skint and needy)
Think many people are just going to have to do without this xmas.
I have already told all my family and friends not to get me anything as i WONT be getting them anything - and that its un-negotiable.
I already have debts from preivious years, and do not wish to increase this at rediculous costs just for the sake of some crappy presents that they wont like/wear/use anyway!! |

I have also told family and friends no pressies this year, just buying a few stocking fillers for my daughter. Due to circumstances and a cut in working hours, my income is half what it was 6 months ago. I would rather do that than borrow money from the thieves who charge so much interest. I just feel sorry for people with young children who feel its the only way they can give them any presents this Christmas! |

Slightly off topic here, but my daughter being a resourceful young adult saves money by making chutney's, and she plants up little pots of herb/seeds/bulbs etc for friends and family as christmas presents.... they are always received with pleasure as we know she has put her heart and soul into creating these gifts too. |

I also feel for the people with children, esp young children who you cant sit down and explain things too.
There are no cheap decent toys so any xmas (one of our receptionsists said this xmas was cheap as she was only giving them £100 each (2kids) and about £100 each in presents) its NOT cheap.
Thats before you even splash out on the food and wine and odd special bottle of something, out fits if you going to party.......i am going to baaa humbug and be a hermit, lol |

A friend of mine emigrated to Brazil a few years back and, knowing he'd never be coming back, he racked up close to £20,000 of credit debt, sold all the goods he purchased, transferred it to his Brasilian bank account and promptly fucked off.
Fair play to him I say lol |
