Does anyone else here take veris with a pinch of salt?
I have been here on and off for years and I know for a fact that some of my own veris in that time have said things that im like "huh, thats doesnt really fit me"
Also because we can pick and choose which veris we show we never see any bad veris.
Bad veris would help us to know who to avoid. I once had a guy come over for a meet and afterwards he refused to leave. The only thing that got him out of my house was when I showed him my husbands gun cabinet and told him my husband was due home any minute. I left him a true and accurate veri, but obviously he didnt show it on his profile. I have always wondered if he ever did something similar to another woman, and it could have been avoided if that veri had been shown on his profile.

Can you actually leave a bad one.
I've met some with great verifications and the meet has been a disaster for me (probably for others too)

A verification is a chance to verify / confirm that someone is who they say they are.
The system isn’t designed to be a review style trip advisor mechanism (sadly).
If I had problems with any aspect of dealing with another fab account, I’d use the report function (altho I accept it’s limited with what they can do).
I hope you are ok after the incident, those kind of things definitely can shake us and your desire to help others avoid a difficult situation is commendable   |

You can mostly read between the lines with veris.
Say, if one has a veri up but the other party doesn't. Possible red flag. Could be a simple reason, could be nothing, but it has a potential for difference of enjoyment there.
Lots of ways to use them or interpret them. Just have to be looking at who wrote it and such to get a proper impression |

Veris are bullshit really. People will always sing someone's praises so they can get another shag. People won't show bad veris.
I'd prefer to see no veris at all on a profile. I don't care about their sexual or coffee history and I don't want to read about it. |

On my old profile I had a verification from another forumite that said "run away and avoud at all costs" and it never ceased to amaze me that people would message me thinking it was serious! |

I don't even show my veris anymore and I rarely look at them on profiles anymore. I hate the over the top "treat her with respect" bollocks (apart from my friend, who said those words but she's my friend lol). |

Veris are just a snapshot of someone's experience at that particular moment in time - truthful in their experience (possibly written through cock/cuntlust). I think forcing folk to display all could easily lead to abuse of the system, further fabrication if turned down etc.
You can report people OP if you've had an experience like that. |

I think a verification you ask the person first if she would like or rather don’t be verified .
Me personally I’m not very friends of gossip and show off .

I've met numerous people over the years and we have never verified each other.
I've met numerous people over the years and we've verified each other and shortly after the mask has slipped and they've turned into raging bunny boilers and I've hidden those.
I've never understood the feeble excuse some people use to contact others and ask about someone they've verified.
If they were in anyway dodgy do they really think the other person would still display their veri and give them a different review when asked? |

Exactly this. Been utterly gobsmacked by how inaccurate verifications have been for a couple of guys I met. And like you, I either don't verify but if they insist I leave an extremely vague non verification that they don't publish anyway. |

I don't pay a lot of notice to veris as one person's perfect meet will be another's nightmare.Veris just mean the person is who they are meant to be .
I use them more to see who they met and if it's someone who is known for drama on here I'll avoid meeting them as I can't be bothered being dragged into fab dramatics. |

I take verifications with a pinch of salt, its just a tool I use to know whether a person is real or not
As for good or bad, different people like different things so what's good for one person maybe bad for another |

Speaking as a teacher who has to write reports, UCAS references etc for students who are perhaps less than stellar, but for whom one must strive to be positive, it would be fun to write a veri so beautifully ambiguous that readers couldn't be sure if the recipient were Aphrodite or Medusa.
Alomg the lines of those famous, probably apocryphal book reviews, 'fills a much-needed gap', and 'Thank you for your book, which I shall waste no time in reading'. |
