I am 63 and work in social care, i work with mostly females and most are either not easy on the eye or not interested in men.Don't get me wrong i am no oil paintng and don't expect women to fall at my feet.

There is a 22 year old, blonde, super fit, good personality and we get along very well.We always have a laugh and I make sure I don't cross the line with banter and getting too close to her when she is travelling on the minibus I drive.

My problem is that recently she has said things that makes me think if she is testing the waters with me to see how I react, for example she told me she was going for laser hair treatment removal and she wouldn't have a hair anywhere on her body, she always insists on sitting in the front with me on trips out.

She literally could have the pick of any man she wanted, surely she wouldn't be interested in a old farm like me,how should I play this?

It’s also telling that the other women, you know the ones not easy on the eye, are not sending signals, only the 22 year old super fit hot blonde one with a great personality .. maybe your internal biases are reading too much into this. A case of wishful thinking?

Anyway, yeah tread carefully OP!

Actually now reading it back maybe I was wrong.. initially I thought she was a colleague but you’re right it isn’t clear. But reading it back I’m not so sure.

I now read it as he’s the Social Worker, and his clients are mainly female .. if that’s the case, and the OPs reluctance to confirm either way, then that sends huge alarm bells ringing.

This has (possibly) got more sinister.. unless the OP can confirm it’s a colleague he’s talking about …

I've worked with a few older guys who thought younger girls were intrested in them and the ones who made the move don't hang around for long. It's just a young lady who speaks to you because your in her eyes not a chance in hell type guy so just more open and relaxed in your company . Unless she actually says I want you to have sex with me in the most obvious way possible just dream and enjoy her company . Hope this helps

It wasn’t clear to me either. I think you are disappointed at peoples reactions - you expected people to have lower morals perhaps? It doesn’t really sound like a match made in heaven.

Don’t listen to me though. Anything more than a 3/4 year age gap I can’t deal with. Go on a works night out perhaps. It’ll be clear what her intentions are then

"Don’t let your fantasies run away with you even on fab

I misread something similar in the past (without the age difference) and lost a good friend as a result "

Thanks for the advice, nice to talk to some people and get it off my chest.

"I thought she was your colleague and worked with you ?

Am I right ?

Is she one of the people receiving care ?

Read my original post.

I did read it and more than once.

It is unclear.

I can't help you then if you think it's unclear, nobody else so far has failed to understand my original post.

It is unclear! And I doubt everyone thought it was crystal clear!

Ok then for clarity, she is a work colleague, hope that makes things easier.

I just thought a 63 old career having sexual thoughts over a 22 year old resident would be too weird even for this site, obviously not.

It’s not weird to have a sexual fantasy about a woman 40 years younger at all. You already know this, surely?

I do yes,but not if they are under supervision in a social care setting like some on here have been unclear on.

It’ll be clear what her intentions are then "

No problem, thank you.

Thanks everybody for your advice, thread now closed, please message me privately with any more advice.

To be clear it is a work colleague I am seeking advice about not someone who is under the supervision of social care.

There’s no more advice to give.

She’s 22 sees you as the ‘nice old man’ she works with. Feels comfortable chatting.

That’s it, anything else is simply in your head.

Somewhere in Co. Down

She's being friendly to a work colleague that's all,you are reading too much into it because you find her attractive.

You should be mature and responsible enough to know the difference at this stage of your life.

"I am 63 and work in social care, i work with mostly females and most are either not easy on the eye or not interested in men.Don't get me wrong i am no oil paintng and don't expect women to fall at my feet.

She literally could have the pick of any man she wanted, surely she wouldn't be interested in a old farm like me,how should I play this?"

Basically, don't.

The end.

Just sounds like a work colleague being nice, best to leave it as it is.

Sounds like the equivalent of replying to single guys on here, even something simple as a friendly hello seems to be taken as an invite to meet.

"Some of the other women do send signals but I am not interested in them, plus there are a couple of younger fit ones who work there but I have no interest them.

You are probably right tho with the wishful thinking. "

Are they actually signals tho? Are they giving you their number kinda signals and telling you to call them if you'd like to go out some time?

Coz if you think telling someone about laser hair removal is a signal then you could be mistaken when it comes to the fugly ones too.

Fuck, telling you about laser hair removal could be a "signal" that she's transgender and wants to test the water on how you feel about it and looking for acceptance for all you know. People read into things what they want to, depending where their head is at at the time.

She's glad to have someone new to talk to other than the people she is responsible for, they can't really do much wrong when sat on a bus and so of course she'll sit at the front, that's the authority position. Also she overshares.

I’d say you’ve been friend zoned.

She feels comfortable telling you things she’d tell her friends.

She possibly feels you’re not a threat because she gets on with you and trusts you, to talk about such things, so don’t fuck it up by trying it on.

Especially at work.

I've investigated sexual harassment complaints that began like this - my advice is to do nothing.

Often I feel it's a compliment to be considered a safe and trusted "older" person. Breaking the boundaries could impact the way she thinks about life forever

If she does though you can choose

Young people can be very open and share without any sexual attraction . I have a friend in her twenties ask me if people really do fisting as she has a very tight fanny , and wanted me to take her to a club to watch it ! But she has no interest in me sexually

She feels comfortable with you and has over shared somethings like the lazer hair removal or maybe she thought you'd not know what it was.

As you said she wouldn't be interested in you, so be the friend she probably sees you as nothing more.

I second this. Do NOT do more than assume or read more into it than a friendly chat.

I would assume she feels you are a safe space to share that sort of information as a friend without fearing that you'll take it as an invitation to further it.

Does no one else just assume it's better safe than sorry with this kind of thing at work?

Ignoring the ridiculousness of this scenario, and even with a more realistic one, it's just so fraught with risk it's hardly ever worth it.

Hi OP, this makes me think that she trusts you enough to talk about this. She may see you as a father figure or may just get on better with blokes. If she wants to meet out of work then maybe uou could introduce some cheeky banter, but keep it professional in the workplace.i would love to know how things go for you.

You might be ‘safe’ in her eyes. And therefore it’s just chat. Leave any thoughts of action out of your work life.

Exactly, once they learn that you don't really have cute little curls occurring naturally, and that every morning you're there with the tongs sorting yourself out... I just couldn't face the humiliation.
