Narrow bat safety

So my sister lives on a narrow boat and this morning she has had to confront a family for allowing their kid to walk along the side of it! The dad apparently said nothing, leaving the sister to apologise for her brother and tell the brother not to do it.

Apparently some other boat owners found people on the front of their boat taking a selfie .....like what the actual fuck is wrong with people?!

Do people seriously think anything is fair game these days and all for the 'gram??

I have to admit I do worry about her sometimes living on the canal but she is a tough little cookie.

Never play with a narrow bat, it’s the quickest way to give your wicket away.

Sorry, couldn’t resist.

As for the situation described…

Not cool to have personal boundaries invaded like that. But it does seem like anything is fair game for the yoofs and their TokTiks now.

It's just mad that people think the boats are just parked there like waterside playground equipment. They'd go tits if someone started walking on their windowsills in their houses

Or they’d be blaming your Sis’ if they tipped themselves into the canal.

Be her fault in their eyes if something went wrong as well.

The entitlement of some people.

These are the same people who let their kids walk in your front garden flower beds or shove drinks cans in your hedge

No one should ever go on board a boat with put getting permission from owner/ skipper

Unless in a emergency. I am in emergency rescue services and this is the protocol

It is about time people took responsibilty for thier actions, leave them to fall into the canal.

If they are lucky, they might live to tell the tale.

Its similar to yachties going out on the sea, no one wearing a life jacket.

It is an invasion of privacy I'd of rocked the boat more and made them learn to swim by making them fall off

Maybe we can make them some kind of Michelin man style suit to give the narrow bats some girth.

Canals are very dangerous places for narrow boat users. There are some virtual no go areas in the network. Avoid at all costs. On a canal. Nobody can here you scream.
