Not all that North of North London |
"I’m off to Amsterdam tomorrow for a long weekend - aside from the red light district and the the hash cafes… what would you recommend I visit?"
I always recommend the Van Gogh which I think is amazing. But I think the cafes and red light district are grim so I suspect van gogh may not be your thing |

I would visit the Rijks if you have time . It’s much better than the VG in my opinion.
I lived in Utrecht for 7 years and visited the Rijks multiple times. |

"Guided tour canal trip. The buildings and their history are beautiful.
Bodyworlds."
I will have a night canal tour… I’ve done the bodyworlds in London (don’t fancy a second look)… thanks for the tip |

The Rijksmuseum is good, beware the latest central government drive to keep tourists out of Coffee Shops (hash cafes).
I would recommend Katzu in De Pijp - and indeed the whole area which is off the beaten tourist track- the Albert Cuypmarkt is worth a look, also try Cafe Albina for some cheap tasty Surinese food. There's also a supermarket around the corner for cheap essentials. |

"Definitely have to try some Bitterballen.
Free walking tours are fun, although not really free as your expected to tip."
Just dropping in to say you’re very attractive but back to the original point, NiceHungFun lives in that part of the world so can advise on any local spots too! |
