Or it could be that they don’t want to go into it in case it causes an argument, they might be having a shitty day and just not in the mood to discuss…. |

I say that all the time with our nipper.
Usually when he's stropping because he's been told no for the umpteenth time, or been told something isn't going to happen anytime soon for reasons previously explained a million times.
I can count on one hand the number of times I've said it to Fox or she's said it to me. Always when one of us is trying to stand their ground on something that if we weren't being so stubborn and pig headed about we'd be behaving a lot more reasonably.
