Do you limit e numbers in your diet?
Jump to: Newest in thread
There are certain e numbers I have to avoid like the plague such as MSG E621-623, certain potassium based preservatives and sweeteners as they all cross the blood-brain barrier and in my case they have horrible affects on my mood, cause debilitating headaches, then light sensitivity, nausea and fatigue. |

I can't remember the last time I ever thought about E numbers, I thought it was all about MSG these days or palm oil. But no, I eat what I fancy, and don't limit myself on ingredients or contents, only on amount. |

There are a number that norway and austrailia have banned and that is E102 tartrazine, it is yellow food colouring, but it is still used in the uk, how come some countries ban some e numbers but not others? |

"No idea. I rarely eat processed food and don't drink fizzy drink. I drink a lot of coffee though to make up for it and I love Smarties. " That sounds good and same here. I drink about 3 cup of coffees a day |

Can't really know what anything has been treated with or had added to it unless you've had it from field to table yourself.
But I do try to eat naturally occuring things and avoid anything only sourced from a lab
Our digestion simply isn't designed to process those manmade compounds and they can cause long-term damage |

That doesn't just apply to e numbers. The FDA in the states ban things we use here, but allow other things to he used that we wouldn't dream of. There is a compound put into white bread in the states that creates a bubblier loaf. It's not allowed to be used over here. Not in food anyway. It is used in the manufacture of EVA soles for trainers though!
Don't try to apply to much scientific evidence or logic to the rules. Chemical manufacturers have the ear of lots of politicians worldwide. |
