Just wondered why admin who has set rules! Do nothing when FAKE PROFILES are reported?

or SINGLE MEN POSING AS COUPLES!

Reported 3 times STILL ON AS COUPLE?????

Is it really worth reporting?????

Why have categories to STOP SINGLE MEN WHEN BLATANTLY ADMIN IGNORES OWN RULES!

Er yes it would. Same rules apply. Admin should not approve a photo verification for a single female profile with anything other than a photo of that female holding up a piece of paper with there fab profile name on . Visa versa for a single male profile

I wouldn’t know. I am sure it is for some people on here. However fakes don’t need to go to those lengths on here do they as photo verification isn’t mandatory. The point I am making btw.

PV is mandatory for some new profiles.

Faking a PV is a piece of cake.

Making PV mandatory for all new profiles will not stop the fakes.

It could dissuade genuine people from starting profiles. Some people remember the Ashley Madison screw up.

Google images, find a candidate photo of someone holding up a piece of paper, photoshop out the words, take a photo of yourself holding up a piece of paper with correct words, cut and paste.

There's thousands of fake profiles on here unfortunately and Admin must receive hundreds of reports a day (Oh to be a fly on their wall!). There's loads of fake profiles photo verified too. Everyday photos get passed with no person in them, or a Woman on a Man's profile. We even saw a photo of the late Sid James and Barbara Windsor. Producing proper photo ID like a passport or a driving licence, now that WOULD cut down on fakes (though there'd still be single Women profiles who aren't actually single and don't play alone). Our advice is to be savvy, follow the verification trail (be aware of fake veris!).

Best way to avoid fake profiles is to meet in a club. It's a lot harder to convince someone you are a couple if you are pulling around a shop mannequin or a cardboard cutout.

Based on responses above then I suppose a passport could be photoshopped and faked. Wow! Some people have really thought through how to be fake and get away with it !

The biggest problem I have is TV/CD having a female profile that’s is photo verified and when you message them they tell you they are a TV/CD but identify as a female

Fab does nothing about this and there has been a few posts about it

If, as there seems to be a daily post on this subject, these 'fake profiles' are so easy to spot.....

Then why is it so hard just to not engage with them? Just report and block them and they'll never cause you any angst ever again.

And yes. It's easy to fake a photo verification and plenty of long standing, active and most definitely real profile's have never bothered doing it and have enjoyed long lives on Fab. It's not the magic bullet many claim it to be.

There’s even apps where you just upload images and it changes gender. Really easy to fake. There’ll always be fakes sadly, people need to have their own processes for spotting fakes and not rely on PV.

I don’t think I was saying rely on PV, the point I was making is PV would cut a lot out because not everyone has the know how and or inclination to go to the trouble of creating a fake PV . And it would be so easy to introduce.

It is worth reporting, admin check every report submitted. It can take 48 hours for reports to be seen and reporting the same thing more than once just slows down the process.

My next post will show how admin deal with reports then I'll close the thread.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports. ******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above). Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported. Admin PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day. Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted: -- Your feedback has been saved. A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning. By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
