"i'm a winker and proud
Me too.
...and I've had meets that started with a wink (that sounds like a song title) "
Hot Chocolate wasn't it? "..It started with a wink...."
Doesn't quite have the same ring to it though ...

I was REALLY anti-wink when we first 'joined' Fabs, but I have mellowed somewhat and we now use them if we see a profile which we like, maybe because it is witty, or has great photos etc, we'll send a wink. But to us it means no more than 'like your profile'. It certainly doesn't mean 'we'd like to meet'. If that were the case, then surely it justifies writing a few lines and attaching some face pics...????

"Not sure I entirely understand the OP..are you saying do people meet from just a wink only?
Eg no conversation or messaging prior...or picture swapping?"
That would be a miracle lol. I think he means a wink to initiate additional wink activities (post winking) |

Just wondered if many people paid much attention to winks, we used to collect them (ie not open our winks till count was over 100)
However we did meet one guy who made initial contact through winking us. Went on to see him a few times so he must have done something right!!!! |

i look at people who have winked then delete if not what im looking for.
same with couples sending a friend list without prior contact and their profile states not looking for single men.

"Does anyone ever meet winkers?
Or do they just have to make do with a wink?"
We don't look that often to see who has winked. We figure if they are too shy to say hello they are too shy to meet. |

If I like the look of someone, I usually send a message as opposed to a wink.
I know I'd prefer a message over a wink, even if it was only a cursory 'hello, hows you ?' |

We use winks as you would a knowing glance in person at a public place. You wink at someone and if they wink back, you go from there and send a message see where the journey takes you.
If they don't then at least you know the attraction isn't mutual and its left at that.
Not all of them do, but some can lead to meets, in our limited experience anyway that's what has happened to us.
