Why the rush?

My mum is nagging me about what I want for Christmas.

I don't really want anything!(At least, nothing in the scale of a potential Christmas present)

What's wrong with setting the money aside until there's something I really want? It's not like having something to open on Christmas Day matters at this age.

I don't understand the rush.

Ive asked, my parents and grandparents to not do christmas this year, nor my birthday next year and chuck me a bnq gift card instead.

That way I can get what I want for the house, ie a new upvc door.

I dont do my birthday, not even my ex hubby was allowed to get me a present. Im not big on xmas gifts for myself either.

If they gave me cash Id just spend it on the kids, they get wayyy to much at christmas but Im a giver

Bah humbug. I always ask for thoguhtful gifts from my family! I love opening pressies at xmas especially when I don't know what I'm getting. I also return the favour and hunt for things that my friends and family would genuinely like and use ! Its nice.

Sheffield

I'm a bit of a cliche at Christmas.

I'm the only one with no kids and no other half so I did give my family a talking to when it was suggested that we only get for the kids - they all have partners who will get them something but I don't so I insisted that I still get something.

Having said that I have got an easy Christmas list:

Slippers

Socks

Smellies

Chocs.

I don't expect big pressies and am delighted with a smellies gift set so I'm not a chore to buy for.

But I will sulk if forgotten!
