Hi all, passing on some info.

Please do not reply to any texts from GOV.uk or other depts..such as DWP

regarding the governments energy rebate / payment etc.

The real payment will be made by voucher in the post only.

I got that text and just immediately reported it. I hope nobody here got scammed. They are just scum these scammers.

We've had loads of those recently. Also the "Hi Mom, I've lost my phone and I'm using a friend's old phone" one.

Yea I’ve had those texts luckily knew they were scams and deleted but good on you pointing out to others

That’s usually the one where the friends phone cannot take voice calls

Your supplier will guide you as to how the credit will be made to your account - check with them. I will be creditied via the post.

The message remains the same...dont reply to texts dont give personal details via calls either.

i was tripped up as the text link took me to the GOV.UK website - except it wasn't - just a very good mock up.

I got a text that said:

GOV-UK: Due to the Energy Bill Support Scheme, you are owed £400 under the discounted energy bill.

And gave me some dodgy link to goto.

Also it’s off a mobile number. Jokers.
