Have a big light in the living room, it’s always been called the big light in all my years, how common is this ?

I don't recall it ever being called the big light.

It was either turn the light on or turn the lamp on.

Growing up we had a standard lamp in the corner and a table lamp.

There's no big light in my lounge, just 3 single-bulb wall lights.

However, there are two hooks in the ceiling that used to have candelabra hanging from them. Hooks, so they could use a pole to take them down to light the candles and put them out again.
