Yes! Not a typo! I’m just looking at a new crock pot to cook on the hob with.

Do I get cast iron or non stick aluminium??

I know it’s boring…. No risk of getting horny on this post

Personally, I'd go with cast iron - if it's not too heavy. Just don't drop it.

Once you start using seasoned cast iron cookware you'll never use regular old pot's and pan's

Thank me later

Aluminium! So much lighter and easy to clean. I've got a sear and stew one.

That’s the trouble, they’re heavy!! They can go in the oven though too?

You can't beat Le Creuset, if you can afford it.

The one I got, on high, is actually quite quick.

My slow cooker has a metal, nonstick bowl that can go on the job to start things off.

Bumping this for three inane reasons:

I fancy the OP.

I like crackpots.

I would like a "frying pan" Fab Photo Challenge™©.

I thank you.

I got really excited then as I thought this was about to venture down the instant pot route and I have a brand new one and love it....how insanely boring does that make me?!

I used to just use a massive pot from ikea, you can get a steamer basket for it so it's actually quite versatile and useful.

If you ever do fancy going with an instant pot, let me know lol...

Lifes departure lounge NN9 Northamptonshire East not West MidlandsMidlands

A good cast iron one would be my preference for a gas hob.
