Does anyone ever just feel off it? Not able to articulate your thoughts and responses in a way you know you normally can or second guessing whether something is the right thing to say when you know you used to without hesitation. If you have, have you let it just pass or taken steps to get out of it?

Even posting this has taken me a while because I've read through it numerous times to make sure I've fully captured what I wanted to say

I've kinda felt like this for a few weeks, since catching Covid again, I'm just not very 'sharp' compared to how I feel I should be normally.

local, but not too local

Yep. Shedloads of vitamins help (I was low in D and B bits) along with some “self care” - food, sleep, exercise, friends, comedy, music etc.

ultimately I need to change jobs as this one is toxic, but that’s longer term.

100% yes.

And a few friends are feeling it too. Could be linked to the seasons changing or burn out,

Take some time out for you and book in a few of your favourite things to do x

Yes, I feel like this sometimes.

The good news is it always ends, even when it feels like you can't see the wood for the trees.

What has helped me before is feeling like I've done at least one thing a day that's been productive. Maybe some life admin I'd been meaning to get done, working on a hobby, getting out of the house and seeing someone etc.

You'll be fine OP

Yes. I've been a bit out of things lately. Can't pinpoint why. But had a cold and been dealing with a lot of fatigue.

It's been a struggle to think of what to say. My words haven't come to me. My humour hasn't been so ready (and I'm usually first to jump on things with a bad joke).

But it will pass. I seem to be a little more energetic today so that's good

Hope you feel better soon OP

Sorry to hear that and hope you're back up to speed soon. Covid can really knock you for 6

A job can be a big reason for not feeling great as it takes up a big part of your life. Come to think of it, my sleeping patterns haven't been great so may that's something I could address

I've really been off it the past few days. I think it's a mixture of things - work, crippling insomnia, I'm coming down with a cold and some people showing their true colours have all put the kybosh on my mood/mental well-being.

Yes. Can be for myriad reasons. I try to remind myself that it will pass. Sometimes I need to get up and do something different, gee myself up a bit. Other times it's retreating under the duvet. Be gentle with yourself, OP.

It’s so reassuring to hear others are feeling exactly the same as I am at the moment!

Most of the time, it's kinda just the way I am. Sometimes I'll be proactive to get my mindset on track, other times I'll just let the feeling wash over me.

Yes I do sometimes - I did the last couple of weekends and took a break away from here and social media. It helps me refresh and clear my head.

It’s not always to do with here but I recognise when it is and step away

Felt like this since last Christmas. Physically and mentally drained with virtually no motivation and I've never had covid to the best of my knowledge. Every test has been negative.

Out n About

There's a few times when I will type up a message or reply to a comment and just give up half way through and then delete. It's weird I will start off with plenty of gusto but then for no reason just go "pffhh" and give up.

Yes, i felt the same since covid knocked me out.. I've abandoned the gym totally ... Focusing on ensuring my vit level are good and I'm also taking iron supplements as i discovered those are low recently.

I'm considering sleeping tablets to try and get more than 2-3 broken hours a night

Thank you all for the replies. It's comforting to know it's not just me. I try to eat healthy, go to the gym, take the right supplements so it's a bit if a kick in the teeth when I still feel like crap. I think maybe a better sleeping pattern is needed as that's also been off for a while

Aw yes this happens to me often…I think the sleeping pattern may help get you back a lil, get your body into a routine. Hope this passes quickly for you OP and anyone else feeling like this

Absolutely, for me it's the menopause, heart palpitations resulting in extra heart beat, flare up of current ibs condition, brain fog, crabbit, constant fatigue aaaargh when will it end?

Yes OP, you are not alone: it’s very easy to be full of self doubt, just keep on doing what you’re doing. There is usually someone around to support us when we feel we’re making a total mess of it!
