Couples that lives separate lives.

I watched an interesting thing about it, it wasnt about swinging, it was about couples who lived separate lives, where they only lived together to have a house together, they did their own things, like meet other people for sex, whilst this type of arrangement is also good, my question is have you done it and how do you think it feels emotional?

It’s probably common for couples who want to separate or divorce but can’t afford to move out.

I’ve a friend who is in this very situation, she’d love to move out but can’t afford a home on her own. Plus, children are often the reason. It’s challenging emotionally and I imagine really difficult to move on!

Yes. I think it is common too as it is also a way of saving money and yes, difficult to move on as well.

We have friends who we call L.A.T’s “living apart together” , basically they have their own homes join up at weekends & holidays. But they don’t completely have separate lifestyles ( sex life) seems to work for them

I'm still very friendly with my ex wife. We life 4 miles apart, Go out with friends together and weekends away.

We speak at least 3 times a week and see each other quite often. Even spend Christmas together At my sister's.

She cleans my house and helps me with domestic issues and I help help her with DIY, cars, laptop, etc.

I never wished to upset her, she's still a lovely lady and she even buys ne dresses etc for Christmas.

My current domestic situation is pretty much like this.

I am away from home about 70% of the time, so that makes it easier.

I have a friend with that type of arrangement. Her relationships never worked out until in her early fifties she met a guy who had no interest in living together and they get along like a house on fire

I used to live separately from my ex husband. We realised very soon into our marriage that we made a terrible couple but were great friends and had kids..

We had a big enough house that we has our own rooms. We dated others and was all going well till I fell for someone utterly.. and then he flipped and got very jealous.. ended up with me being homeless

Very interesting thread, as I feel on the cusp of this right now.

It’s got a lot more distant the last two and a bit years, zero intimacy just like living with a friend..

no discussion on where we go from here as feels like in the to difficult box, and no green light to date others

It’s a very very frustrating position

Myself and my wife have been living quite happily sleeping in seperate bedrooms for over five years now . Yes first thing of a morning it’s tough , you know what I mean guys) , she has a friend at work and I don’t ask any questions about him . It’s manageable.

Yes, that can also happen.

So house share? Sounds great. Share the bills, have some company and get to go about my days.

Cool. I’m in.

We live together but have separate bedrooms and my wife encourages me to go out. This isn't because I am transgender (if anything the other way around) and in fact we are much happier since I became Lucy.

We live together as friends, and my wife is friendly with my new female friends who only know me as Lucy.

I met a lovely young woman who wanted to come home with me and shared my bed (no sex sadly, she is engaged too a young man!) and my wife was quite happy and liked her too when we had coffee together in the morning.

I would be quite happy if my wife wanted to have sexual fun with men or women but she doesn't.
