with the moon n stars somewhere in gtr manc |
Thousands of Americans have signed a petition calling on the White House to build a Death Star (a moon sized space station weapon from Star Wars).
The founder believes it will strengthen national security and creat jobs.
If the petition gets more than 25,000 digital signatures by Dec 14th, US officials "will be forced to consider replicating the Death Star" including lasers capable of destroying a planet.
*sky news.
I have got an image of the Death Star parked in the front garden of the White House now.
If this does get that many signatures, I would love to watch the discussions about it.
Imagine it being discussed in Parliament here |

But if it is sucessful, then they wont start work on it til 2016 so they can start saving now
Imagine if George W was still incharge, he'd be having his Death Star pilots lessons now |

The story of the Yanks blowing up the moon was a recycled one from the 1960s.
You can bet the good old British Government would be more than happy to help fund a death star though ..... |

There's not much that scares thr shit outta me but one thing does and that's this planet being wiped out by an asteroid. With all the technology we have available to us today we still haven't come up with a viable solution for preserving humanity if an asteroid was discovered hurtling towards us.
I know it's far fetched, death star and all that, but a concerted global effort between all nations needs to find a way of protecting our planet and it's myriad of life forms. |

"Didn't the Reagan Administration have a go at this 30 years ago ?
No idea, didnt say on the news.
I just had images of it being on the white house lawn "
Yeah, there was a project that was started years ago and once they'd spent a few billion they realised they didn't actually have the technology yet, then the Cold War ended and it wasn't really a major requirement anymore !

i'm hearing what your saying, why wait for an asteroid.
with this kind of catastrophe hanging over us,we must be pro active.
let the americans lead the way,and build a death star capable of destroying planets.
having this capability, you just know, they'll get us,long before an asteroid comes any where near. |

Don't worry about it, if it happens you will have about 2 years notice to catch up on stuff, and stop paying bills, then about 3 seconds of pain, and it's all sorted |

That's only if it's a direct hit, otherwise he'll be suffering the prolonged agony of the equivalent of a nuclear winter !
