Time to Ban Statues

A woman has protested against the use of private jets by pouring blood and shit over the statue of Sir Tom Moore who raised money by walking for the NHS.
Not sure of the connection but why not just ban all statues. They want to put a statue of the Wuuen on Trafalgar square. It will just be another target for the lunatics. Ban them all.

I don't believe we should ban them as its like hiding our history so we don't see it.
I think they were put the for a positive, however should truth that is unacceptable be found the statues should be removed and placed in a museum perhaps to recognise the fact. |

Captain Tom's statue was previously vandalised. Someone spray painted IRA on it. A dog walker who spotted it said "I had to go home and fetch a bin bag to put over him. It's not nice for anyone to see him like that" |

It’s common in most charities sadly. They start of nice, eventually it’s just a business with very well paid staff |

I used to “work” for a charity. The man at the top was living a very lavish lifestyle and unless people kept donating for over 6 months all the money went to him. |

I don't see much correlation between private jets and Captain Toms' fundraising.
Surely she would be better off doing it over someone who used private jets? |

Med School drop-out rates are pretty high, 15% to 20%. Begs the question if initial vetting and selection is robust. Some Med Schools are moving to Post Grad medicine in which applicants need a first degree in another subject. |

And that's the trade off isn't it? A well managed organisation can raise and use more money more effectively than one which is not well run.
Good staff cost money. (presumably you get paid to work?).
It's not a bad thing to pay people to do things better. |

a statue is to commemorate the life and achievements of that person just because one person has a paddy why ban them all  |

The statue of a little girl in a corner of Amsterdam is a beacon for all right thinking people of the world.
The statue is defaced with regular monotony by those who are scared of the power of the human spirit freedom and democracy. The statue remains in place and Ann Frank her words her gentle aims in life will live on forever. Go take a look and if it doesn’t cause a tear then I don’t know what will. |
