Don't know if you lot share my dread of returning stuff...
Not here sir you have to take it to customer service
No customer service have left
No it looks like you've used it
No you don't have the original receipt
No it was 3 months ago
No you used it too much
No you didn't buy it in this branch
No you bought it online
Can I have your name address phone number?
And so on..
Imagine my surprise and jubilation when returning an 9 month old pair of doc Martins that had come apart at the seam ...
"oh yes that's a fault sir they shouldn't have done that. Very sorry for your inconvenience. Would you like a replacement or refund.?"
"Replacement please, thanks very much for your help. Good bye."
No need for name and address no need for obstacles, no inquisition...

glad you got it sorted!
I used to be terribly British and never complain. The older I get the less fucks I give and now take it back. Most people don’t care, they just work there, and refund without an issue. Sometimes you get a jobs worth but stay polite, don’t get ranty, be friendly and you tend to get what you want |

I stood in Next for twenty minutes once with a bra that had a fault. The assistant argued and eventually called the manager who just sighed with a sigh that carried all the world weariness of a man who's worked in retail for too long and just agreed. I began to think it was their policy to keep you waiting in the hopes you'd give up. |
