80s porn in general (not just British) had a certain feel to it that is sorely lacking in today's porn (not that I don't like the modern films, of course).
To be honest, I think that there's just something about that whole decade (from the styles, the fashions, the music and of course the porn) that still resonates with people of a certain age today.
In fact, it's not just us 80s teens...the younger generation have always embraced the 80s. I'm not sure if it's because they grew up with elements of it with their parents.
Back to the point about porn...the cheesey dialogue, the hair, the silly storylines....I love it to this day   |

I am not a great believer it was so much better in the past. For me, there is porn made then that I like and there is porn made now that I like. There is porn made then which I think was pants and there is porn made now that does not float my boat.
I agree there are some good 80's French films.
In terms of 80's Brit stuff, I like Ben Dover's sidekick Omar's solo work and there was a series "Fuck Truck" that I collected when in a retro mood.
These days I am more into 80's Japanese rope porn from the salad days of some of the top Nawashi. |

This is so spot on! I remember watching bbc2 late one Friday night as a teen and a French film (not porn, but pretty close) about a gang of TVs and a beautiful French girl. Somehow the girl was up a ladder and holding a rail or bar overhead and the handsome young TV had his head right at her crotch. He ended up giving her hand relief then cunnilingus. It was the first time I’d seen anything like it. She had a great orgasm and so did I (I was about 13/14 at the time).

Hopefully classic Japanese porn is better than modern. The censored bits aside, there are some right cracking girls, but it's the constant SCREAMING that does my head in. Apparently some cultural thing that they like then to sound like little girls or something. But Jesus it sounds like squealing pigs.
The French Alpha Blue releases on the other hand, always good. Brigitte Lahaie and obviously Marilyn Jess. Richard Lemieuvre was a better everyman than that fat pig Ron Jeremy. I think it says a lot that they're all pretty "normal" these days, and well known in France, rather than the washed up bitter shells that the Americans tend to end up as, Jeremy being the case in point. |

Although my taste in the 80's Japanese porn tends to the rope porn, I have a few vanilla Japanese 80's films and modern ones and the screaming is a cultural thing, although no different than the screaming in modern Western porn.
The Japanese actresses past and present are stunning. The pixallation is annoying, but there are films without pixallation out there.
The French films with the big budgets are easy on the eye with gorgeous actresses. The Germans also made good films but without the fashion sense of the French.
