How unpopular are you? :-)

I’ve just taken a peek at my block list.

It’s starting to steadily grow, the thing is I never proactively block anyone - I just block people I notice have blocked me (yeah, I know it’s petty but hey, an eye for an eye, right?

) and there’s probably loads of blocks I don’t even know about yet!

Now obviously I have no issue with being blocked, people do it for all sorts of reasons I get that, so it’s not a whinge and I’m totally cool with it and all that blah de blah (and I know I can be a bit marmite.)

But do you often find yourself randomly blocked and wonder what exactly it was you did or said that caused the block?

And how unpopular exactly are you .. are you finding lots of blocks or that nobody you’re aware of has?

I’m curious to know Fabsters!

I usually believe I'm fairly inoffensive in the things I post so I am surprised when I find I've been blocked by someone I've had no interaction with. I'd love to know the reason but it's unlikely they'd ever tell me but overall I don't think I'm blocked by that many people

Only time i actively block someone is if I'm clearly not what they want, or vise versa. Saves potential issues in the future.

I do.block.people who've blocked me because they clearly aren't interested for what ever reason. If they change their mind it's tough.

I also block people who make clear statements about bald men hairy men, bi curious or other don't like this don't like that. Too negative.

I've only found one profile that blocked us. It was a 74 year old who I'd turned down. He did say he'd block us if I turned him down a second time (he kindly gave me a second chance).

Other than that one of our veris disappeared and I still don't know if that was a block or if they deleted their profile.

I don't think that makes us wildly unpopular though

I'm sometimes blocked just by viewing someone and no interaction whatsoever. Sometimes just even if I've sent a polite message without pics and with pics. In most cases I always read their bio and check preferences before messaging and still been blocked. Mostly I think it's about preferences and that's fine. A few times I've had good fun chat with people and then still been blocked... these ones just make you wonder why chat in the first place, though some people I've chatted to have been genuinely interested in how and why I like to wear lingerie.

Personal preference is something everyone is entitled to, so although it could be interpreted as rejection, it's not something to dwell on. Just respect someone's decision and move on. When I block someone it's usually because I've politely declined and yet they still keep messaging.

... that's just my experience anyway

It's a filtering method more than anything... If I click on someone's profile and we're not compatible for whatever reason, then it saves crossing paths in the future.

There's only a handful of people I've blocked because I don't like them, usually based on things they've said in the forum's. This of course works both ways and that's fine

No idea how many are on the block list as I don't give it a second thought once they're added. Wouldn't say I was all that popular really but that's cool, far more important things to worry about in life

My block list is enormous as I block anyone who contacts me who hasn’t read my profile (sometimes 10/20 a day).

I’ve noticed I’ve been blocked by others a couple of times, I assume they’ve read my profile, realised they’re not what I’m looking for and blocked me to save time. Or maybe they’ve not liked what I wrote in the forum.

I’d be a hypocrite if I objected to anyone blocking me, given that I’m such a fan of a block myself.

we not popular rarely receive replies from emails, get loads of winks reply to them, think its about 70 dont reply 30

reply split. As for blocking, only block if we dont think we will get on or profile is dodgy and a few other reasons

Moderately unpopular I would say.

There are people who have blocked us that I would say I understand why.

Others, I have no clue why as until I clicked on their profile I had never noticed them before

It’s like being in the fifties and turning up to a hotel with a sign in the window “ No Dogs, No Blacks, No Irish “

I kind of feel: “this person doesn’t know me, has actively made a decision that they never want to know me because I am a guy who likes to dress as a woman. “

Obviously that is not what is happening and I understand people have as many reasons for using the site as there are people on the site, but because, in my world, it is about me… it is hard not to feel this is some sort of pre judgement

I totally get this: couples and single females will of course be inundated with messages and, let’s face it, there are only 24 hours in a day. You would end up permanently replying, trying to be polite, knowing that swathes of the profiles you were replying to are just wasting your time anyway!

I don't know about blocking and as for popularity I don't know, how is that measured? And it is weighed up against how you perceive yourself over what people actually think. I just don't know, I know who likes me and I know who doesn't and I also suspect that those who don't like me try and influence those who don't know me....It's a minefield for sure

I pretty much never look at forumite profiles so no idea if I'm blocked. I can still see and reply to their posts so if they really hate me they should just say so. I find silent blocks like primary school kids not speaking.

Yeah I get the local area blocks, I’m not what they’re after and it stops the unnecessary messaging and all that. It’s the random 500 mile away people that I’ve never interacted with (and only tend to visit on those ‘Fab our pics’ or ‘which is your fave pic from the profile above’ threads and the like) that I see have blocked me.

I’d love to know what opinion or view of mine they objected to! Just for the lols, obviously!

I have blocked quite a few forumites, usually for some opinion I find very unsavoury. Blocking means I won’t accidentally set up a meet. For example I often block guys on here who give away that they’re married in threads but don’t reveal it on their profile!

There’s been a few times I’ve clicked on a profile on the forums and I’ve been blocked. Some I’ve never interacted with but I usually assume they don’t have a sense of humour so have too offence to something I’ve said.

Also remember you can block people via your message filters. Doesnt mean they have looked at you or read something you have posted and decided not to like you.

For example I have mm couples blocked because its not what I would be looking for

I think our behaviour here is far from what we normally do in real life. How many would not reply to some who way hello to you on the street?? On fab some people will block you. Some will block you for texting twice lool. All sort of things that we don't do in real life, because it would be considered rude!

Very true, but also I often think sites like this give a more accurate idea of how many women feel comfortable approaching men, or being approached, in a place where they can be pretty easily in control of who they see and talk to. In public, a lot of women might be more friendly/polite, but some of that, sadly, will be down to fear of male aggression in the face of rejection.

No wonder so many people block. Some people need to have a MUCH stronger sense of when to back off.

It's a filtering method more than anything... If I click on someone's profile and we're not compatible for whatever reason, then it saves crossing paths in the future.

There's only a handful of people I've blocked because I don't like them, usually based on things they've said in the forum's. This of course works both ways and that's fine

If someone, on the street, says hello in passing we don't then stop for an exchange or chat. Not answering messages isn't the opposite of real life at all.

Only four on my block list. Offhand no idea why. If I block anyone it's been about reading their views in the forum where they've been racist, bigoted, etc.

I suppose some have blocked me because I'm not to their liking. Oddly, or not, there is a couple that's blocked me after fabbing all my pics and sending me a wink. Hubby covering his tracks or one of them getting huffy that the other was showing interest.

Even if you’re blocked you can still block people back.

Go to the ‘menu’ bit at the top of their profile and you can still select block even if the rest of their profile is unable to be viewed by you!

Interesting: I'm kind of the opposite. I haven't blocked anyone, but generally if someone is more than 50 miles or so away, however hot I think they are, I don't hotlist for future reference...if I ever find anyone here,I'd like to be able to meet in less than an hour's travel.

I am sure most people don't really worry about it as people block for their own reasons and it's their perogative to do so. What I do find strange though is when someone messages you and when you look to see who it is, so that you can reply, you find out you have been blocked

"There’s been a few times I’ve clicked on a profile on the forums and I’ve been blocked. Some I’ve never interacted with but I usually assume they don’t have a sense of humour so have too offence to something I’ve said.

I once took offence to something you said and I made a snarky reply post about it.

But the rest of the time you are funny.

I think some people just don't understand that human beings are multi faceted. Probably the type of people who want bad things to happen to Phil and Holly...!

Even if you’re blocked you can still block people back.

Go to the ‘menu’ bit at the top of their profile and you can still select block even if the rest of their profile is unable to be viewed by you!

I didn't know this either but then I don't block people because they've blocked me , or because they have a differing opinion than me on some things ..

I'm not that childish haha

I noticed that i am block about 3-4 times a week. I don't block people back. If I have done it is by mistate, i do visit my block list to correct this!

If someone, on the street, says hello in passing we don't then stop for an exchange or chat. Not answering messages isn't the opposite of real life at all. "

We dont ignore them or runaway. at least we return the polite interaction.

We used to have lots of idiots message and even after saying no thankyou they would message pushing so we block those so ours is quite long but im hoping we are quite popular

there has been occasions where we like the look of a profile and end up blocked but just shrug it off and move one

I would only block anyone that explicitly states they don't want single guys because they become needy and clingy. I'm not clingy nor looking for anything other than mutual adult fun, so with their opinions on categorizing single guys I will definitely block them

I only block if I have checked the messages and if l've noticed that any of my messages are read and not replied to or message was deleted l just block that person as they are not interested and l won't take up their or my time again, it's not what they have said or anything on the forums it's just they are not interested.
